For Our Grandson...With Love

Yesterday I had a very successful craft fair at the Embassy Theatre in Skegness, not as big as usual, and less footfall than previous occasions there but enjoyable none the less.  I did take on an order for a vintage wedding but I will not be able to show you any of the work as the bride to be doesn't want to share it until the big day, a brides prerogative.

The chest of drawers is now finished for our Grandson Bertie so time for the big reveal.  It will match the other pieces of furniture done for his bedroom and off course all the bedding that I made for him.

Drum roll please.

I hope he will enjoy it as much as his Granny and Grandad enjoyed working on it.

What are you working on at the moment?

See you soon.

    1. Thank you so much for your interest. The paper is wallpaper from the Cath Kidston range which is a little thick for decoupage you should use thin paper really. We stuck it on with PVA glue and then used bees wax on the paint and the paper to give it some protection and to age it Hope that helps. It looks good now but how long it will last for a 2 year old remains to be seen.

    2. Thanks M, I did an Annie Sloan upcycle for my DGD for Christmas last year, you would be horror struck to see the glued up, glittered, makeup smeared piece of furniture it has become but you know what, she has used it and loved it and that's all that matters x

Thanks for the explanation, it is beautiful.
