First thing that needs to be done is make a list using the list note book, a gift from one of my daughters.
The mini green house needs to be emptied, folded down and stored ready for Spring.
The barbeque needs to be cleaned and put away, but I still have the wonderful memories of some lovely meals shared with family and friends.
The garden furniture needs to be folded and stored.
We live on the East Coast of England about half a mile from the beach and the North Sea, which makes for a very blustery season. Everything needs to be tied down or put away otherwise you will be chasing it across the fields. The children's toys need to be stored also.
This temporary bed has been amazing for the wonderful lettuce grown and enjoyed everyday, a must for next year. It now needs emptying and storing away.
The logs need ordering and chopped ready for the multi fuel stove. It makes for a cosy evening toasting your toes in front of it, the most wonderful feeling ever. Even better when sipping on hot chocolate on those cold blustery days.
Several bushes need to be cut back and some plants stored over the winter.
We are blessed in that we still have some produce to harvest, leeks and beetroot, so that bed cannot be cleared but the rest can.
So that's the list for Autumn for outside I now need to make a list for inside, but that's another post. Have you done your Autumn preparation?
See you soon
yes ! we also prepare slowly for autumn outside and inside too ! Nice moments for me ... I like so much this perios of the year ! so, have fun too !
ReplyDeleteNot yet...but i'm not so organized...
ReplyDeleteHave a great day !
Anna
I'm good at making lists, but not necessarily completing the tasks. You've inspired me to take some action... maybe I'll start tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what the weather is like during winter by you, but why put away the barbeque. We use ours all winter long.
ReplyDeleteWe have problems with wind, so it is easier just to store it away. Makes it more of treat for the better weather.
Deletewe closed the pool and we have yet to put away the outdoor furniture, it's on the list. My husband gets sad when we say goodbye to summer but not me!!
ReplyDeleteYou really have your lists down pat. I am so impressed.
ReplyDeleteI am so fortunate that my dear husband tends to most of the outdoor seasonal changes - so he works hard once the season is truly over.
I always get sad this time of year - it's my fav, but always makes me sad to see the earth go to sleep once again. Weird, I know....but I think life is flying by too fast and I want it to slow down so we all can savor it more.
Where you live sounds awesome. If we ever get to England I will let you know! My daughter - the one you lovingly sent the mag for - married a British boy.....he was raised in the states though but they visit England every few years to see family. I have never been but hope to one day before I am too arthritic to enjoy bopping about.
Hugs.
You are quite organized and ready to go for Autumn - I'm so impressed :)
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day! Hugs!
Oooh Er Mrs Organised! fancy coming round and organising us lot?
ReplyDeleteSlowly trying to clear the garden, like you things have to be tied down or put away or they will be swept into the fields by the wind.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything like your little lettuce bed. I would think it could be used by people who only have a patio to garden on and be very useful. I'll have a list a mile long to get things ready for a Minnesota winter when I get home from the UK, but I'm not going to think about that right now!
ReplyDeleteYou and I seem to be on the same wave length!! I decided to begin making To Do Lists again today. Makes me feel like I get more accomplished just by scratching things off my list. : ) Top of my list is harvesting all that is left in my garden before they get ruined by frost. We haven't had our first frost yet but I'm sure it's only a matter of time!! xo

The wedding plans look to be coming along nicely and relationships intact-perfect.
ReplyDeleteYour Autumn list is practicably a duplicate of mine-the new log splitter came through the post today along with a new chain for the chain-saw . Mr H is so going to be busy.
Helen
Your are very organized! I've decided to be a list maker too, bought a set of note pads for different subjects, now all I need to do is to remember to write things in them.
ReplyDeleteThe list is the easy bit, now all I need to do is follow it.
DeleteI love lists - sadly I'm often not so good at ticking things off them!! Your autumn list makes me think of all the things that I should get done. We've had a huge tidying session in recent days because we have so many people staying over for the Christening - they are all arriving tomorrow, yikes!! I'm looking forward to it, but looking at your to-do's I just remembered that I need to bring some wood in. It's really getting to the point in the year when I sometimes think it might be nice to have a fire on in the evening...
