Lockdown Continues

Just popping in to catch up with you all.  Open Reach have spent the best part of the day here once more, you are so right.  No internet once again...It is intermittent at best!  I am hopeful it will be alright for tomorrow as we have a virtual VE tea party planned with the family.  Time will tell.

It has been another beautiful day weather wise, the sun has been shining and it has been nice to sit awhile in the garden.  Watching the birds and the the bees, literally.

A little crafting has been going on, my linen trousers have finally been altered after languishing in the to do basket for some time.  More masks have been made to replace the depleted stack previously made.

I have also been doing a little work on a quilt that I am making for a friends daughter who is expecting a baby in the Autumn.  I have tried to incorporate the colours of the Island and then I will enhance it with a little embroidery and applique.

All stitched by hand and filled with love for a much wanted baby.  What are you working on?

No real surprise announced to day as we continue to be in lockdown.  We are awaiting the Tesco delivery which is due today.  I am hoping I will get everything I ordered as we are running low on most things but I am thankful that we got a delivery so we shall see.

Take care and stay safe.

See you soon.

  1. I hope you get everything you ordered it must be difficult as you are so isolated as it is. The quilt is looking gorgeous it will be a well received gift I am sure. x

  2. The baby quilt is so cute. I love the fabrics you've used. I admire the pretty masks as well. Our niece is coming by with 2 masks she has made for me. I had my choice of her stash of remnants but none were as cheery as the ones you used. However I'm sure they will be as effective and that's the main thing.
I hope you are able to get all the various groceries you've ordered. Enjoy the sunshine.

  4. Good morning Lorraine. I hope your internet stays consistent for you. That must be so frustrating.
That baby quilt is so pretty and I know it will be well loved. Hand stitched! That is a LOT of work and I know each stitch was filled with love and prayers for that new little life.
Those masks are just beautiful. I love the flowered fabric, so cheerful and sweet.
I went to Costco this morning to get Chloes prescription medicine. It's half the price than if we get it at the veteranarian's office. I thought I would get toilet paper, paper towels and some Clorox wipes since I was there. I haven't bought any since all of this mess began. They were out of stock. Completely. And people were loading their carts up with meat since our meat-packing plants are being heavily impacted and many closed because of the virus. I didn't buy any. I didn't want to get that close to the crowds. I got the medicine and some laundry detergent and came home.
May the Lord help us all through this terrible disease that is impacting this entire world.
Today is the National Day of Prayer in the U.S.A. I've spent quite a lot of time this morning in prayer for this world of ours.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  5. So glad that the weather is improving for you and that you are getting to spend some time out in the garden. I hope you get to have your virtual VE Tea Party. I was going to make some bunting today, but then realised I had used my appropriate fabric to make something else with last month! So the idea fizzled out. I am on my own anyway so it wouldn't have seemed the same.

I just LOVE that quilt, it is gorgeous. What a precious gift for a precious baby! I am sure it will be treasured.

  7. Great masks and a lovely quilt which will be received with delight, I am sure. I hope you can have your virtual VE Tea Party, and that the internet keeps going. We are the last phone on the line here, so needless to say we do NOT have a strong signal.

Snap - we have been watchng birds and bees too, and the garden positively thrums with bees humming as they go from flower to flower.

  8. That quilt is beautiful. As for masks, I need to make a few so that we have some to wear and some to wash. It won't take me long now that I have some more elastic.

  9. I’m working on a crocheted baby blanket, which I have frogged twice I hope to complete this time! The baby doesn’t come until August, fortunately! We are ordering groceries, too, so we don’t have to go in the store. It’s always a surprise at what you do not receive because it’s out of stock. It’s hard to plan meals ahead because something is always missing for the recipes planned. Your baby quilt is beautiful!

  10. Hello, dear friend!
I hope your internet gets fixed quickly.
    That is always so frustrating!
    The quilt is BEAUTIFUL!!!
    I love the colors.
Would you believe here in Pennsylvania it is snowing in May?!?!
So I am still enjoying the fire and cozy. : )
    Stay safe!

  13. You stay busy and that is good. Very glad to read that your Tesco order will soon be there. I always loved going through the groceries. It wasn't so much fun when I had done the shopping myself, but it's fun again now that the kids are doing the shopping. So glad that it has been warm there...so unusually cold here; we're even expecting weekend snow. Ugh. Enjoy making the quilt.

  14. Our grocery stores have never been in lock down. One son goes once a week, as he and his wife always have. And he gets things for us, which can only be gotten at that grocery store. And she gets, for her mother and father, now.

We get Orders To Go, picked up by our next door Daughter in Law, because she herself has asthma, which is one of "those" scary issues, with COVID-19. And she doesn't want to go into stores.

But all, have been able to go into grocery stores. With masks, and social distancing, and the stores are doing all sorts of wipe downs and mask wearing and etc.

And our drug store is sending our meds, through the mail. Although they are open for all.

Essential places have never been locked down.

Hope you will get all that you ordered!!!!!

  17. The baby quilt is so nice, Loraine. How nice for a newborn, a lovely handmade piece. I've been washing our home's windows. Thank goodness my husband is a willing helper. Clean windows, clean blinds, and clean curtains make a difference. Stay safe and enjoy the weekend.

  18. Love the baby quilt. Hope you are safe. I am doing some embroidery work for a friend. It's nice so I have been doing yard work too.

  19. A quilt which will surely be treasured forever.
I hope that by now your store cupboards are stocked and your internet restored so that you can enjoy your virtual VE Party. It sounds great fun. (We are having a socially distanced one with our grandchildren who live across the garden! Should be interesting, as well as fun.)

  20. What fun! I hope the computer holds out for your tea party, what a lovely idea. There's some bunting out and a few flags here and there to mark the day here too.

  21. Virtual tea party for the family sounds wonderful. Maybe my friends and I can organize a virtual lunch or dinner if the lockdown continues. Our partial lockdown is very much relaxed with many going back to work. Hope the internet will not give any more problem.

  29. I love the flowers and the bees. Hope you got all that you needed with your delivery. What a pretty quilt, too.

  30. I hope your delivery arrives on time with everything you need in it. Deliveries here are a bit hit and miss. There is usually at least one or two things that were in our order but not in the delivery. It can be frustrating if one is relying on those things.
When I see all of the things you are cooking and crafting I wonder how early in the morning you get up in order to have the time! :-)
In these lockdown days with chilly mornings, I struggle to get out of bed, even with crochet and other jobs calling me. Maybe I should order a delivery of motivation!

  31. Hi Lorraine, you have been keeping busy with face masks and quilting and makes me thing I should be doing a bit more creative things. It's not so much the self-isolation that gets depressing at times, but the lack of socialization when one is out and about.

  32. I think your quilt looks beautiful...

    All the best Jan

  35. A GREAT SPELL CASTER (DR. EMU) THAT HELP ME BRING BACK MY EX GIRLFRIEND.
Am so happy to testify about a great spell caster that helped me when all hope was lost for me to unite with my ex-girlfriend that I love so much. I had a girlfriend that love me so much but something terrible happen to our relationship one afternoon when her friend that was always trying to get to me was trying to force me to make love to her just because she was been jealous of her friend that i was dating and on the scene my girlfriend just walk in and she thought we had something special doing together, i tried to explain things to her that her friend always do this whenever she is not with me and i always refuse her but i never told her because i did not want the both of them to be enemies to each other but she never believed me. She broke up with me and I tried times without numbers to make her believe me but she never believed me until one day i heard about the DR. EMU and I emailed him and he replied to me so kindly and helped me get back my lovely relationship that was already gone for two months.
