Its a Dogs Life......

I woke  to a very damp and misty morning today.  Not one that is calling me to the garden so I intend to spend the day in the craft room finishing off a couple of projects and preparing for my first craft fair of the season.

My husband and I have started to tidy the garden up, but it has been a long slow process.  Our garden had been flooded throughout the winter for some weeks, which leaves it mark.  I am just so grateful it wasn't the house.   Unfortunately some of the seeds we planted did not survive whilst we were away so we have had to start again.  You win some, you lose some I suppose!

This little part of the patio we have created into a little nook for us to look upon our empire, or read a book.  Its not looking its best at the moment but in the summer it is a blaze of colour and a delight to sit in.

Even the gnome a gift from our Grand daughter was trying to escape the water.   As you can see from the photos a lot of water damage marks on the patio and pots.  I feel blessed, it could have been a whole lot worse.

The boys are back from the kennels and have settled down right away, romping in the garden and then sleeping it off.  It is certainly a dogs life!

Hope you have a great day.

I usually buy plants because I only manage to have California puppies and snapdragons from seeds.

  6. Well you have some blooms. It will be no time before your patio is in full bloom and looking it's best. It's too bad about the water damage but like you said, at least the house was spared. We could use some moisture over here.

  8. Hi! I just popped over for a visit from the comment you left on my blog. Thanks for stopping by. I love your yard! It looks like a great place to hang out...especially the table area. I need to get our back yard pulled together too. A lot of work, indeed! Your doggies are adorable and look very content. :-)

  9. Your garden is looking good. I like the wee gnome, he is making me think about the kids film Gnomeo and Juliet, my daughter loves that film. I haven't really been doing the CAL over the past few weeks, just time restrictions really but I know that Chrissie is doing her mandala along at the moment. Hopefully get back to the CAL soon.

  10. I can just imagine how beautiful your garden will be very soon. We are just now seeing a bit of spring here in Missouri. There has been more thunder and lightening than flowers thus far. Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment about about Rosette Lampshade! ~Kelly
