The original price of these patterns were 6d each in the old money prior to decimalisation. Both patterns are complete with graphs for both raglan and set-in sleeve styles an exclusive Mary Maxim feature.
I don't think I will ever knit these cardigans but they are wonderful to get out and look at, they are part of history and should be loved and cherished. So for know I am the keeper of these wonderful treasures. Yet again I wonder where this pattern has been and who knitted them up, if only patterns could talk.
Spending time with my wonderful husband today to celebrate his birthday, 58 years old. No real plans have been made yet on how to spend the day so, time for a cup of tea and a serious discussion on where to go...
See you soon.
I love the vintage patterns, hope you enjoy your day with your husband.

It is so much fun to see these, I can't imagine many men wearing that cardigan these days though! xx
ReplyDeleteWow what cool patterns, it's almost a shame they're not fashionable today. Then again they'd probably take aaages to knit :-S

DeleteThe skiing cardigan reminds me of the starsky cardigans that were everywhere in the 1970's!
