Wedding - Part 3

I won't bore you with any more of the wedding photos BUT,  there is always a but isn't there?  I thought you would like to share with me the end of the night, with only one little girl left standing.  The grandchildren were amazing and walked down the aisle at church perfectly, stood for photographs and were well behaved throughout the day.

The Wedding Part 2

Once again many thanks for your thoughts and well wishes over the weekend.  It was heart warming to know so many people were thinking about us.  As I have said in my previous post the professional photos will not be available until the newly weds are back from their honeymoon.  However, I have managed to get some photos together from family.  Hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

The flowers were a big hit both at church and at the reception, I felt quite proud of them.  I have a wonderful daughter who has a wonderful eye for balance so made it easier getting the flowers all the same length.

I was particularly impressed with the bike and milk churns at the front of the reception venue, they really made a statement and indeed served their purpose welcoming people to the gathering.

 

The seating plan in the vintage suitcase and card holder looked amazing.  The guest book was a tree, each person left a finger print to make a leaf, a real statement piece and something that will be a piece of art afterwards.

The cake was also a work of art and looked wonderful on the tree trunk her father had polished up for them,  It certainly went down well, as did the wooden coasters.

The wedding car was a vintage VW and really caused a stir with everyone looking at us as we drove through the town to church.

 

Even the speeches were heart warming and entertaining.  All in all, a really good day and well worth all the hard work so many people, to many to mention put into it.  My husband and I are going to get our little one bathed and enjoy a couple of hours together with our feet up.

The Wedding

Thank you so much everybody for all your thoughts, well wishes, cards and presents on my daughters special day.  The professional photographs will not be available until the newly weds are back from honeymoon but I will post some photos as soon as I get some emailed over from family.  It was a beautiful day, the sun shined and everyone had a wonderful time.  Everything came together beautifully and looked amazing as did my gorgeous daughter who looked stunning sharing a special moment with her Nanny my mum.

I will post all the details of the day later but at the moment I am busy enjoying the company of my grandson.  We have just got back from soft play and are now going to get ready for the park so that we can feed the ducks.  Once again many thanks for all your well wishes.

Busy Times

It is only 6 more days to the wedding, when my beautiful daughter marries the man she loves and they start a new life together, exciting times.  It is the final fitting for the suits tomorrow and the final meeting with the wedding planner at the venue.  The dogs go to a friend of ours for the weekend on Thursday and the flowers are to be collected for the  arrangements for the vases.  The bouquets, buttonholes and church flower arrangements the florist is doing.  We seem to have everything under control.

Christmas gifts are made I still have some to package this week. I need to get cards wrote as some of them need to be posted, although they are all made.  I do need to check what the last day is for posting to America.  I want to get some baking done for the freezer but I am not putting myself under pressure this week.  I also like a couple of stews/casseroles in the freezer so they can be just heated up when time is at a premium.

Although busy I have still made time for a bit of crochet, I have been making headbands for some charity boxes and for gifts.  Here is a selection of the ones I have made.

I have a busy few weeks with the wedding and looking after my Grandson which I am really excited about so I may not have the time to blog or to leave comments, I will catch up with everyone when I can.

Wedding Confetti

The final pieces for the wedding have been completed, with 4 whole weeks to spare.  I am thrilled with it all and so pleased that I have managed to do everything that my daughter and her future husband wanted.

The confetti cones and basket are complete and so for the big reveal, drum roll please....





 

 

They just need to be filled, she has chosen dried hydrangea which should be wonderful.

 

The menu cards, the church order of service and seating plan are at the printers so everything  is coming together perfectly.  She had her final dress fitting on Friday and all the food choices have now been made,  we are all prepared and ready for the big day...

Wedding Update

The weather yesterday was quite bright so I could have gone out for a stroll or into the garden, but for some reason I felt that I wanted to tie up all the loose ends of the wedding.  I therefore spent the afternoon pottering around in the craft room putting the finishing touches to projects and packing everything up ready for the big day.

The bike needed the handles finishing off so that was job number one.

Bound with natural twine and fancied up a little to give the perfect finish.

 

The brooch pins were stitched onto the crochet buttons holes for the little boys and elastic threaded onto the bow ties which were redone as we had a change of heart with regard to the colour.

Little jobs that are now finished so that everything is ready to go.  To that end I also  started to pack things up so they could be transported to the venue easily.

The confetti cones are the only thing left to do and so there is no pressure near the time I intend to get them done this week.  We are ready....

Wedding Update

The projects for the wedding are coming along nicely, everything is nearing fruition.  The lists have been managed extremely well and the relationship between myself and my daughter is still wonderfully intact.  She is thrilled with all that her Dad and I have done and as we have started to put some of the projects together the better it looks.

All that is left on the list is:
   - assemble wreaths
   - embellish bags
   - wax wood
   - embellish vases
   -confetti cones

So today I started work on the vases.

Using vintage crochet lace, hessian and jute twine the top of a vase was embellished.

Where it will sit on a wood plinth that has been sanded but waiting to be waxed.

A quite striking centre piece for each table, matching the coasters and making a wonderful statement.

One down only another nine to go.  The list is getting shorter...

Wedding Update

Progress on the wedding is steady with something being done on a daily basis.  There is still no pressure so I am taking great pleasure in making the perfect setting for the happy couple. Speaking to my daughter on a daily basis, sending pictures backwards and forwards, tweaking here and there is still soothing with a constant desire for the perfect setting.

Half of the coasters have been cut, sanded and stamped they now just need to be waxed but make a great finishing touch and the perfect memento of the wedding to take home.

A very pleasing overall effect.

 

Baskets have been embellished with crochet flowers/leaves for the bathrooms to hold personalised mints.  A finishing touch to add a little luxury.

The confetti basket is now ready for the confetti cones. They are yet to be made but will have a stunning effect when leaving church.

 

The card for the cones has been cut ready, they need to be put together which is quite time consuming so certainly not a job to be left to the last minute.  They are going to hold dried hydrangea petals.

 

The wreaths for the outside tables have been made and embellished with wooden hearts painted and stamped.  They will have a storm lamp in the centre with a candle which has already been sourced and bought.

The photographs are not reflecting the colour of the paints that well, they have been matched perfectly to the wool used for all the crochet flowers and the green ink is a racing car green.

 

Finally, last but not least a vintage case has been embellished for the reception for any cards the happy couple may receive.  It was hessian lined,  lace and jute flowers made and added with jute letters used to finish a pleasing feast for the eyes.

 

Still a few more projects to go, but tomorrow is another day.
