As the day continues there has been a few more flakes of snow added here and there. The temperatures have plummeted leaving a crunchy ice, making the roads quite treacherous. We are blessed that the gritters have been out along the main road in front of our little cottage. However we are thankful that we don't need to go anywhere.
I have filled my day sharpening my coloured pencils and working on my Bible. I Have an Inspire Bible for Creative Journaling which I enjoy.
We have a beautiful bunch of tulips on the dining table to brighten our day. A gentle reminder that Spring is on the way and very soon there will be a wondrous array of colour as the moor once more comes to life. There are signs here and there already of the promise to come with daffodils starting to emerge through the frozen ground.
We have already sorted through the seeds that we have available and started to plan and extend the herb garden. There are more tyres in the outbuilding that we can use it is nice to have a few plans and I must admit half the fun is in the planning. Have you started planning the garden and browsing seed catalogues yet?
See you soon.
I'm so glad you are staying inside on such icy days. The beauty can deceive us. Your tulips are so pretty and so nice to brighten your days. I'm dreaming of my garden, but sadly we have a while to go before spring comes. Stay warm and cozy. ♥
ReplyDeleteNo planning yet, but you make it sound like fun. I think I must first plan how to keep the deer away. It sure looks cold out there. We are expecting a big arctic blast and about a foot of snow overnight. It’s a good feeling to know that there is heat and food already here. Your bouquet is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWe are getting a few inches of snow here today... Thanks so much for stopping by!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deb
I am so glad your stove is keeping you warm enough! I have to admit that we don't have a vegetable garden, just some herbs such as chives, rosemary and sage that comes back year after year in pots in our wild farm yard. Enjoy your time in your cozy home. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteOur plans for the garden this year huge! Making it more user friendly for me with more hard paths. We do have an excellent herb bed.
ReplyDeleteSnow days when one can't get out and about are such special days - perfect for doing those things one might not do otherwise. Of course, I am a homebody and always glad for an excuse to hibernate for a few days. It looks as though you are enjoying the day with your journal and scrapbook. What fun!
ReplyDeleteyour bible is gorgeous!! Your talents are never ending :) Love the snow pics and I'm happy to report that it is snowing as I type this, yay!
ReplyDeleteYour Tulips are so lovely!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing that Daffodils are poking up and the ground is still mostly frozen?
I received an e mail from my fav. plant shop today informing me that they open on the 16th of February.
That must be a sign of Spring!!
I have all brown thumbs, but I will enjoy seeing the plants you purchase and grow this year.
ReplyDeleteIt is so much cold! stay warm..
ReplyDeleteXOXO
I would dearly love to exchange our weather for yours. In Oz (Australia) we are also hibernating from the weather - we have many days of 40 or more degrees Celsius, and we lock the house up and try to stop the heat getting in. However, the humidity is the worst part of high temperatures, and I am constantly wiping my glasses from the perspiration which drips out of my hair. Will swap you for an occasional day of cold which I would enjoy just right now.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to hearing about your gardening plans.
ReplyDeleteWe have woken up to a heavy frost and after the wet and slushy day yesterday I am dreading what it's going to be like underfoot.
ReplyDeleteHugs-x-
It must be really icy and dangerous following all the rain.
ReplyDeleteIt has snowed here again, so far not so much, unfortunately I have to go out to my aquagym I hope it will not be slippery on the roads ! The view out of your window is so nice !
ReplyDeleteWe had a dusting of snow overnight. It's not to cold this morning, so hopefully it'll be gone by the time I go to work for 1 o'clock. No garden plans as yet. Usually we're already potting veg seeds, but we haven't even gotten round to that yet. Best, Jane x
ReplyDeleteWinter in your home sounds idyllic and cosy! It is cold here, too but the roads are clear in the city. x
ReplyDeleteStay safe and warm. The tulips are lovely:)
ReplyDeleteSounds so cozy! Yes, I've been looking at seed catalogs. I want to order more heirloom seeds this year. My daughter is going to plant a "purple" garden at her little farm. It's fun to dream on these snowy days.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tulips. Keep warm!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds cozy to sit inside by the fire and color on your Bible. I have one too and it's enjoyable.

Jack Frost's work is lovely, but it is dangerous.
ReplyDeleteWe have snow on ice on snow. So it's best to stay in!!!! But the sun is shining and it's lovely to look at the Marshmallow World, outside our windows. :-)

The beautiful tulip bouquet sure adds color to a snowy day! We have camellias blooming and i keep fresh ones coming inside. They might not warm the actual temperature but they warm the eyes and the heart!
ReplyDeleteIt seems everyone is getting snow except for me...BOO! And there is nothing like tulips to brighten up a snowy day...they are glorious! I love this Bible Art that folks are doing. May I ask what Bible this is that has the lovely printed designs on which to color??
ReplyDeletei live in a tropical country and i really wanted to experience snow.
ReplyDeleteanyway, I like your blog, wanna follow each other? please let me know. thanks :)

The photos and bible look so nice. I planted tulips last Fall and hope they come up, but it will be at least 3-4 months yet.
ReplyDeleteThose tulips are so bright and beautiful. Seems like a lot of us are looking forward to spring. It's been awfully cold this winter. Your place sounds cozy with the fire going inside.
ReplyDeleteStaying indoors on such a cold and dreary day is the best thing to do. Much of Canada is in a polar vortex, but here, crocuses are emerging and there are cherry trees blooming. It's so early! But we could have snow next week. The weather is quite topsy turvy.
ReplyDeleteIt's of benefit that you have several satisfying things to do when you can't get out because of the ice and snow. Your Bible that you can read and colour in pages is a good one. It has got much colder here with a bitterly cold chill in the air. We got more packets of seeds, mostly vegetable, as Christmas gifts so my husband is planning his vegetable plot. It sounds as if you're doing some planning too and you're looking forward to growing more herbs. Fresh herbs always add something extra to the flavour of food. Take care and stay warm in your cozy home.
ReplyDeleteSweet images
ReplyDeleteTulips are perfect to brighten up a gray winter day. I hope you're keeping warm!

It sounds so cozy at your house with a warm fire, good company and lots to work on and dream about. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteLove the Bible. I'm still in full on winter mode. Spring arrives here maybe late April- more likely May, so I have some time. But we spoke this morning of how nice it will be in the summer- to just get out of bed without freezing- just walking out the door without bundling up. If it weren't for the garden, I'd say summer is easy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures and scrapbooking!
ReplyDeleteSandra xXx
It does look beautiful with a covering of snow. We've woken to another layer of frost and ice and we're getting a few snow flurries today, though nothing much. It's very cold though. It's good to have a selection of activities to keep you occupied whilst snuggled up indoors on days like these.

ReplyDeleteLove your snowy pictures, we had snow last night and again today, but not as much as some areas experienced.
ReplyDeleteYour tulips are lovely, such gorgeous colours, they certainly brighten up a room.
All the best Jan
Lovely snow pictures. I love your bible that you can be creative in also, how beautiful! The flowers are just lovely too and I bet they really brighten everything up :-) Stay warm, Spring will be here before we know it! I hope your husband is doing much better, thank you for sharing with me on my blog and for the kind comment, I really appreciate it. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Jill

ReplyDeleteWe have talked about what we want in the garden this year. Trying to keep out the squash and pumpkins because they take up too much room in our tiny space. Our daffodils will soon be blooming too. The crocus has begun blooming and yet snow in predicted tomorrow. Planning is fun for sure!
ReplyDeleteI love your photographs and the beautiful image in your Bible. I do Bible art journaling too, mine has some ready printed pages but I like to add my own art and notes. It is lovely to see you doing it too. I will put the link here if you want to see some of mine, I haven't added to the pinterest page for a while. https://www.pinterest.co.uk/abitgreener/bible-art-jornaling/
ReplyDeleteLove your bible art, very pretty. I don't tend to write it mine but if it's read that's got to be good, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame that your film night was cancelled. I hope it is not a total cancellation but more a postponement so you still have something to look forward to in the community.
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be a lady of leisure - journalling, scrap booking, jigsaw puzzles. I feel calmer just thinking about it.
Did you get any more snow?... I bet you need that lovely cosy fire in the middle of winter. Snowdrops and dafs are popping up all over my garden at the moment and we have seen little groups of dafs nodding their heads on the grass verges. It feels very early for them to be flowering. Wrap up warm and stay safe in the snow.
ReplyDeleteI 've got my blogging mo-go back so am visiting favourite blogs.. good to see yours and that you are as creative as ever. I looked back at all your makes, you're so productive I must move my self to do more.. lovely tulips too. We're doing a jigsaw together, a snow scene, so difficult it's testing our brains.
ReplyDeleteKeep warm, we've had all new radiators and wow are we warm, too hot at night we've had to turn that radiator down. Take care
Love your snow pics and those beautiful bright tulips.
ReplyDeleteIt is gonna be warming up here to almost 60 degrees I heard near end of the week. I guess setting us for the kill and by that I mean - a whole lot of snow. I do want more snow.
Enjloyed seeing the tulips, Lorraine, as I also have a colorful bunch on my table thanks to a neighbor. They were a birthday gift today 🙂 We no longer think about planting anything outdoors now that we are apt-dwellers.
