Sadly the photos are not as amazing. It was a moving car and I was getting reflections from the window. It was lovely to see the different layers with an eerie mist rising from the ground. The drive through the Cairngorm National Park was as always a delight.
It was so unusual not to see snow on the peaks at this time of year. This time last year it had been a struggle to drive through the snow.
The car has been unloaded and we have made a start on the unpacking and what seems like a never ending amount of laundry. We were certainly blessed with some thoughtful gifts, so it will be nice to re-look at some of those gifts today and find a home for them.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, although I must admit it seems so long ago now. The New Year brings with it Hope for a healthier future and after much pondering and deliberation we have decided Hope will be our new word for the year. It is my intention to catch up with my emails today and then start visiting your blogs once again. Wishing you all a wonderful New Year and wishing you everything that you wish for yourselves.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
See you soon.
I was only thinking of you just yesterday. It's lovely to see you back here.

ReplyDeleteWelcome back, I was wondering when you would return.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you both.
It is lovely to visit family for a while but there really is no place like home. Your own bed and pillows, the comfy chair or sofa that seems made to measure, nothing compares. glad that you had a good time and that your drive home was uneventful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! We recently too a trip too. And yes, it is always good to be back home too though. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you made it home safely. Welcome back.

ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to think of you tucked up cozy in your cottage once again. Visiting is wonderful, but coming home is utterly satisfying. Enjoy settling in once again.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you're home safely and enjoyed your trip.
ReplyDeleteThat's nice that you are back ! I missed your neighbours the sheep, lol ! I think the pictures are very nice at least they give an idea of the wonderful landscapes you drove through. We had a nice Christmas with son and family and New Year with friends, but honestly now I am happy that all these festivities are over and we are back to normal life !
ReplyDeleteI think that the bane of returning from any vacation is the sheer volume of laundry! When we visit Cuba we leave most of our clothes behind for people there who have little, and due to the long, obscene sanctions imposed by the west, there is little in the shops to buy anyway.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you had a wonderful time :)
ReplyDeleteMy good wishes for 2019.
All the best Jan
Wonderful place my dear
