It was so nice to stay indoors and potter.
Friday was such a beautiful day here on the Island, the sun shone brightly and there was a slight breeze keeping the midges away. So don your sunhats and cream, buckle up and I will share my journey to the metropolis the main town of Stornoway.
As we have moved into a new season and the daylight hours are still over 18 hours, more and more outside jobs are getting done. Local crofters are shearing the sheep.
The rabbits are lazing in the buttercups.
Peat is been cut and dried in readiness for the cooler months.
The hazy, lazy days of Summer here on the Island. Long may they last...
See you soon.
Thank you for the outdoor tour! Like the sheep and rabbit, I too enjoy the lazy days.
ReplyDeleteOh it does look so beautiful there MM.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that you are getting some better weather now and are able to get your outdoor jobs done.
Hugs-x-
Thank you for sharing your photo's
ReplyDeleteTea and scones sounds lovely :)
Thank you for the great picture tour. It is way too hot here for any outside work. I will be staying indoors for several days.
ReplyDeleteThis looks serene and quiet. Where on Earth could this be? I'll have to read more here to figure it out!
ReplyDeleteThe gloomy days are good for resting. We've had a few of them here lately. Although it hasn't rained. It just teases us. It looks like you enjoyed a nice trip into town.

The tour was beautiful, thank you, and it's interesting to see the peat. I am wondering how you cope with the midges? I am craving mists and dampness here, the heat is almost unbearable and I have been hiding indoors for days. xx
ReplyDeleteA lovely tour, thank you, and those red skies are gorgeous. It's so hot here at the moment, I can't imagine mist and damp right now. X
ReplyDeleteThanks for the trip!
ReplyDeleteThe photos of the sky are absolutely stunning, looks like you had a wonderful tour. It is quite hot here, so I am definitely jealous that you have been experiencing some rain. Thanks for the share, keep up the posts.

Your first photos of the sky are stunning. I enjoy when you take us around to see your views. The sheep and the bunnies are a treat to see. Have a lovely evening. ♥
ReplyDeleteLove all the pictures especially the sky ones.
ReplyDeleteOnce the peat is dried will you have to store it out of the rain or will it be fine out there?
Tea and scones.... some of my favourites! Today it's tea and cinnamon buns here because I need to use up the rest of the cream cheese icing. ( As if that has ever been a problem).
We just started watching a Netflix series called Shetland, a detective series set in the Shetland Islands. I thought about you while watching it, and had to look up where your island is in relation. Although I read it's mostly filmed on your mainland, it looks very much like your island. The pink/red sky is beautiful! We were just in Alaska so I can relate to the 18 or more hour day! xo
ReplyDeleteI bet the island breezes feel good in this heat. Beautiful countryside. The sheep must feel so good after being sheared.
ReplyDeleteTea and scones, how good this sounds.
betsy
Lovely photos!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, tea and scones please. : )
Eighteen hours of daylight! We are at 14 1/2, and losing a minute every two or three days. I love your tours. You live in a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteIt sure looks summery there and I know how you're enjoying it after the long, windy, cold winter. I'm reading a wonderful book set on an island in Scotland - "The Cafe by the Sea" by Jenny Colgan - and I think of you. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed every mile with you on the road to town. It still looks like living a in a storybook, to me. It is simply beautiful there!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the tour, Lorraine, and those scones would have been wonderful as well. It's summer here and feels it too!
ReplyDeleteNice tour and the rabbits are pretty. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful skies.
