Little Pig, Little Pig...I will blow your house down.
Off to work to earn some money for a holiday to Granny's Island.
Making sure the tank is full, its a long trip.
A hard days work on the building site.
Before a good long break for lunch. We then went onto have a stroll around the farm, making decisions about what would be nice to have. The rabbits were a real hit.
There was a couple of escapees which enabled us to get up close to the goats. I loved the idea of goats milk and cheese. Wilbur was not keen on the smell...
The horses were a joy and were added to the list of maybes.
We did fall in love with the pig, he was so ugly he really needed some love.
A wonderful day out makings lots of lovely memories to treasure. I have had a great couple of hours recalling some of the boys antics and sharing the fun with Grandad, they are indeed a joy to us both.
As always I thank you for your visit and your encouraging comments. Prior to going away I was blessed with a parcel from betsy-thesimplelifeofaqueen.blogspot.co.uk. I had long admired her beautiful knitted wash/dishcloths so it was a real delight and great surprise to receive two in the post. Each time they are used warms my heart.
A big thank you Betsy, they are beautiful.
The weather forecast is looking good for the weekend, so I am hopeful that some outside jobs will get done. Have you any plans?
See you soon.
That looks like a fun place. My two would have loved it when they were small. I laughed about the pig, he has some luxuriant hair, doesn't he?

Those little faces! It looks like you all enjoyed a fun time. X
ReplyDeleteSpending time with grands is always fun ( and exhausting). I remember when the grands here would hold their noses when we visited a farm.
ReplyDeleteThat pig is sort of ugly, isn't it!!
I love the little story to go along with your grandsons antics, so cute. The poor pig really wasn’t the bonniest one was he, aw xx
ReplyDeleteThe play barn sounds like a great place to spend time with little ones (and grandmothers!) Wilbur holding his nose is cute. The knitted dishcloths are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the photos of the grands and the animals, Lorraine. Our weekend plans will involve being indoors during the afternoons as we are having a heat wave for the next week as is much of the U.S. east coast.
ReplyDeleteOh those adorable children.. I swear they are the cutest ever. And your daughter is a doll, too. Takes after her mum. It's good to have kids get to know farm animals. We have no big plans this weekend.. but I want to take the kids and grandkids to see a river beach where we might swim. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I'm thankful you had fun with your daughter and grandchildren! Nice little farm! Goats and llamas can smell nasty for sure. Nice washcloths Betsy sent you. This afternoon I bought 3 new plants with my color spots from Al's garden center. $10 off.... 2 are cannas and are tubers. If I put them inside late fall they'll survive. I'm enjoying the color in my flower garden this year. Looks like it might rain tonite. Lots of clouds! Take care and have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteAh happy memories they look gorgeous and great fun! Those dish clothes are just too damn nice to dunk in water! Jo xx
ReplyDeleteTime well spent with family. You got a nice gift. The dish cloths are beautiful. They would make dish washing seem like a treat. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteThey are such precious little boys.
I must say that I love pigs. I think they are so smart and fun to watch. My grandson used to ride his. Big Red loved it. He was a pet with a personality.
I have not see wash clothes made this way. I do like them a lot.

How nice to be able to spend some time with your family ! Your grandsons have grown ! I love pigs I don't know why, but they love me too. Once on a farm visit there was a black pig which followed me everywhere and even washed my feet, lol ! And you even have found time to knit ! I would like to have your email if you don't mind, then I could directly answer to your questions !
