The Final Chapter

The final chapter of wedding photographs,  a wonderful fairy tale beginning to a long and happy marriage.  Once again apologies for a top heavy picture post but the photographs speak for themselves.

Finishing Touches

The professional wedding photographs are back.  What a talented lady she was, she captured some beautiful tender moments and gave us back some wonderful memories to treasure of a beautiful day.  To that end I am sharing the finishing touches with you today, a year of some very crafty moments culminating in the day of a lifetime for my beautiful daughter and new husband.  My apologies in advance for the picture heavy post.

Yarn Along

I am still plodding along with preparations for the wedding, crocheting flowers and sanding coasters.  Slow but steady I am certainly under no pressure yet.  The wedding is at the end of November so still plenty of time.

 

I am also attempting to get everything prepared for Christmas so that I am under no pressure.  I have crocheted some washcloths ready for little stocking gifts and for the guest bedroom.  A fun easy make which will make you smile.

 

A reindeer and a cracker have been done so far, who knows what else will appear.

 

I have been browsing Wedding Details and Christmas Details, both by Mary Norden.  Both books are quite inspiring, they are not makes just elements of a Wedding or Christmas to add classy finishing touches that enchant and impress.

 

I have just started to read  Notes on a Scandal by Zoe Heller that has had good reviews, but it is early days yet so I haven't formed an opinion.

Fit For A Princess...

A bag made for the bride to be, fit for a princess embellished with lace and pearls.  Perfect to keep everything together prior to the wedding. It then becomes a perfect travel companion,a underwear bag for the honeymoon.

 

A perfect match with the shoe trees so could even be used for the bridal shoes.  A pleasing overall finish.  I would like a personal  embroidered message inside but time will dictate if that will be achieved.

 

The lace elements have been added to the hanger all ready for the dress and go beautifully with the rest of the things.  I couldn't possibly divulge information about the dress...

 

I am still working on the wreaths, but the Mr and Mrs hangars are ready for their going away outfits.  Everything fit for a Princess.

Wedding Update

I had a stall at my local village hall yesterday.  It was nice to catch up with people I hadn't seen in a while.  The foot fall was once again quite slow, but I did reasonably well in the end certainly a lot better than some who didn't even cover costs.  I did manage to secure quite the list of commission work.  I was also approached to display my work in a new Arts and Crafts Centre which was quite the compliment.  It is always nice to have your work admired and appreciated by fellow crafters.

My new edition of Simply Crochet arrived on Saturday but I didn't get chance to read it until last night.  I was fascinated when I reached page 76 and read the article Crocheted by Heart, a crochet wedding.

 

It was interesting to read someone else's  take on crochet as a personal touch.  I am not sure that I agree that craft elements of a wedding save money.  I am still spending a minimum of an hour a day on the crochet elements and it is still going very well.  The wedding invitations have gone out and already a lot of people have replied.  The band has now been booked, the suits are still outstanding and some of the minor details such as shoes.  On the whole it is going very well.  The happy couple go to the venue next month for a tasting to decide on the food.  Time is just flying  by so it will be here before we know it.

 

The vintage suitcases are to be used for the seating plan and the cards, I managed to find some vintage fabric with tiny flowers on the same colours as the yarn so it is looking good.  I am in the process of making the bags for the bridesmaids.  I also managed to get vintage hankies to pop in them, so I am pleased with that.  The perfect gifts to be given to them at a Victorian afternoon tea.

 

I am dreaming of the perfect day for my beautiful daughter and working hard to give her the day of her dreams.  What are your plans for the day?
