Weekend Adventure

My apologies for not been around but I was having problems with my computer.  As you may know I am not very good with technology so was unable to do much about it.  So in the end I left it alone and waited for my son in law to return from their holiday.  He was able to repair it remotely, so here I am.  He is definitely a keeper.

What can I say about the weather, other than rain, rain and more rain.  It is doing wonders for the grass, and the machair.  The vibrant grassland is full of wildflowers and is a beautiful sight.

Thankfully we have had a few bright moments so it was a joy to take a short drive and see Eoropie beach from a distance.   Watching me, watching you...

It is a joy to sit awhile and watch the sea as it makes its journey to the shore cascading against the rocks, spraying the surrounding area and then receding back into the swell to start its journey all over again.

Another quick drive to one of our favourite coves to sit awhile and admire the beauty.  We feel blessed that we are surrounded by such outstanding views and take every opportunity to soak up the ambience of this amazing Island.

Back home for some warming soup, bread from the machine and rhubarb crumble.  Much needed to warm up.

I have made a start catching up with you all but will be around to visit as soon as I can.  Must get ready for my aerobics class...

See you soon.

  1. Such beautiful scenery. We've certainly had our fair share of rain just recently too, everywhere is looking so lush at the moment. Yum, rhubarb crumble is one of my favourites.

  2. I still marvel that computers can be psycho analysed remotely. The rain has been quite something here in Lincolnshire too.

  3. When I have computer problem, the only option is send to the computer shop. The weather here has been very warm these few days. We can't find rhubarb here.

  8. I am 48, have 3 children, 2 boys age 25 and 22 and a daughter of 11. My husband left me last year after 25 years of marriage (he turned 50). It has been the most difficult year of my life, but full of lessons about myself and what life and marriage are all about. I am passionate about marriage and i didn't give up on my husband. Am Arice Stringer by name and resides in USA, I entered online in search of advice on how i can amend my marriage while i was at work. I saw so many positive reviews and nice feed back about how a Doctor called Robinson.buckler@ yahoo. com has been wonderful with his work. I gave a shot to make contact with him via his Email and he assured me that my marriage will be peaceful and i believed in his words. 16 hours after he finished work, my husband came back home pleading and now, we are living peacefully again. Get in contact with him if you need any help.

  12. Looks like a delicious lunch, and those wildflowers are so pretty. We, too, can just sit by the sea and do nothing but be mesmerized by the sound and movement of the waves. You have such gorgeous views to enjoy also. What we see is sea and more sea, all the way to Portugal!

  14. Our son used to be able to work on our desktop remotely but we no longer have that computer. It was nice to be able to have him fix it from hundreds of miles away!
Your photos are lovely as always. I think my favorite today is of the little cove. It looks so peaceful and calm.
Rhubarb crumble sounds lovely. I need to harvest mine again tomorrow when I go home from the lake. Maybe I'll make some for dessert!
    Blessings,

  27. We are blessed to enjoy such sights, Lorraine! During the seven years Louis and I lived in Crescent City, CA, 2000-2007 we enjoyed the coastal views of the Pacific so much and I am thrilled that you and Gerard are able to soak in such beauty in your part of the world and that you are posting about it...prompting such good memories for me. Your posts are a delight for me savor. Now living near Portland, OR, I live close enough to the Pacific that at this time of the year we sometimes have a marine layer of clouds in the morning that cool our temps, but it often warms up in the afternoon to a just right warm to me. At the moment I am a bit chilly and just had some chicken vegetable soup. Your warming meal looks so good and your sheep on the shore photos are favorites for me in this post :) xx
