This And That

I have had a busy few days sorting out both my stash of yarn and my stash of fabric.  What fun I had working out some future projects with the fabric I already have.  I now have a list of projects that I have in mind for Christmas projects and gifts.  Sorting it all out this early gives me plenty of time and no pressure.  A win, win situation.  Another bonus I don't have to budget any extra cash I already have the resources.

I have harvested some more mint and it is now hanging to dry, ready for those Winter months.  I have also added some more oils chilli and basil to the store cupboard.

I have finally finished the Christmas scrapbook.  I did the main one of our trip to Efteling but didn't get around to doing our trip around the family.  I really enjoyed the process and loved looking back at some of the photos and the joy our children and grandchildren bring.  I loved browsing through some of their artwork that we were given, each piece made with love.

I have just finished making my sweet Dad a card in readiness for next Sunday, Fathers Day.  I just need to package up his gift and get it to the post office.

I do thank you for all your well wishes to Gerard, his change of medication is hitting him hard and he is in considerable discomfort but he is coping well.  We are going to enjoy a meal together now and watch a film.  A movie night in.

Thankfully the sun has been shining today but we still have cool temperatures, I am tempted to light the stove.  Where are the lazy, hazy days of Summer?  I must admit we are enjoying some wonderful evening skies despite the inclement weather.

These are about 10pm, amazing just how light it still is.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

See you soon.

  1. Lovely post. Enjoyed all of it. Hope Gerard gets sorted. We have had our wood burner on every night, tonight possibly not as it has been warm all day. But then come evening the temperatures plummet. We too have had amazing skies.

  2. Oh my! Ten o’clock and still that light! Amazing! Saying a prayer that Gerard and his meds will come to a friendly truce. I have been playing with fabric lately and my efforts were a bit off. (To say the least.)

  3. I think it's getting cooler rather than warmer here too. Those skies are spectacular though, I would sit and gaze on that sky forever

  4. Beautiful sky. Sounds so nice to enjoy a meal and then a movie. Steve and I enjoy a quiet evening and a good movie at home also.
Prayer for Gerard that he will have a smoother go with the meds.
You have some pretty Christmas fabric there. Look forward to seeing what you make with it.
Wishing you a great week end

  5. Hello Lorraine. I'm sitting here wrapped in a blanket and it's really chilly out. I'm debating heading out to the lake, but I can sit and knit there all wrapped up too.
I like how you have everything all sorted for Christmas already. I've begun knitting some socks for gifts and I have a scarf finished. It takes awhile when you make homemade!
I'm sorry Gerard is still struggling. Changes of medication are hard. I started a new one about 2 weeks ago with some not so fun side affects so the doctor is now taking me off of it very slowly.
I do hope he is much better very soon.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  15. How wonderful that you can start making your Christmas gifts an that you don't have to break the budget to do so. It's wonderful when you have everything on hand. I'm interested in your mint drying. Is that all you do is hang it, let it dry, bag it up and it's ready for tea? I planted mint last Summer and it is going bonkers this year. Having my own mint tea would be fantastic this winter.

I like the moody sky pictures. And, like usual I like to see what you're making. The Christmas fabrics are super cute.

  17. We had a rare [for this area] thunderstorm this afternoon and I have the heater on because it is so chilly...the ups and downs of end of Spring weather! I admire your organization and planning ahead, and your plans for a movie night in. I think I will knit and watch a movie tonight, too :-) Happy Weekend! xx

  28. It does seem, that toward sunset time, last rays of the sun seem to peek *under* the cloud cover. And we can get a lovely sunset. It's a very interesting phenomenon. :-)

How interesting that your sun set is so late. You are higher, than we are. Or however it is termed. :-)

  32. I am 48, have 3 children, 2 boys age 25 and 22 and a daughter of 11. My husband left me last year after 25 years of marriage (he turned 50). It has been the most difficult year of my life, but full of lessons about myself and what life and marriage are all about. I am passionate about marriage and i didn't give up on my husband. Am Arice Stringer by name and resides in USA, I entered online in search of advice on how i can amend my marriage while i was at work. I saw so many positive reviews and nice feed back about how a Doctor called Robinson.buckler@ yahoo. com has been wonderful with his work. I gave a shot to make contact with him via his Email and he assured me that my marriage will be peaceful and i believed in his words. 16 hours after he finished work, my husband came back home pleading and now, we are living peacefully again. Get in contact with him if you need any help.
