There is nothing like a babbling brook to entertain the senses and this one was no exception. It was a joy to follow it meandering down to the sea.
As we carry on down to beach, first of all there are numerous rocks/stones to clamber over a great barrier from the raging seas when a storm hits. They are such fun to walk around and see whats living underneath and around them. Particularly nice when it is a little warmer.
Finally the beach and the glorious ocean. An invigorating walk along the beach blows the cobwebs away.
Hope you enjoyed the stroll, now back to the car and a quick drive to the cottage for soup. Tomato and red pepper or leek and sweet potato?
Thank you for you visit here and your uplifting comments. A war welcome to a new follower, I do hope you enjoy my little adventures through life.
See you soon.
OH want a lovely walk! I love the smell of the sea air and a bracing breeze. Your beautiful photos look like postcards! Mmm... I love both those soups; I think I'll have the leek and sweet potato please :) Best, Jane xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely stroll and then back home for soup, perfect. So sad about the rabbits, it's such a horrible disease and to think that it was used to control the rabbit population, terrible.
ReplyDeletewhat a a lovely walk, thank you. Just what I needed.
ReplyDeleteThose beaches have spoilt me forevermore. We used to spend hours there, wild, rugged, and almost always empty. Guaranteed to blow away the cobwebs! Tomato and red pepper please, though I am sure they are both delicious. Your posts are very good for my health.
ReplyDeleteLove those stones - great markings.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed our walk-thank you. Although I saw a gurgling burn where you saw a babbling brook😘.
ReplyDeleteNot surprising it was a bit chilly with a good wind blowing. Hope you enjoyed your soup.
ReplyDeleteOne of those stones reminds me of a love heart.
ReplyDeleteWe need to be careful clambering around rock pools in South Australia. One needs to be extremely careful - don't use your hands to turn rocks over because underneath might be a deadly blue-ringed octopus! Wear closed shoes and be careful! I imagine you would wear closed shoes where you are because of cooler weather and perhaps freezing cold water?
I would love to go on that stroll and turning over the rocks. Tomato and red pepper for me!
ReplyDeleteSuch a magical place MM.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking us along.
Hugs-x-
Oh what a lovely walk, I really enjoyed it, thank you! Tomato and red pepper for me, please. x
ReplyDeleteWow, those sand dunes are huge. Beautiful scenery!
ReplyDeleteI like that walk among the rocks and listening to the water run along the brook. I would have wanted to cart back with me a few rocks.
ReplyDeleteThe beach in winter for me is the best time to visit.
I would have a hard time choosing which soup, so I will take a small bowl of both. Sounds so good..
I love it where we live, but an invigorating walk along the beach would be a joy if only we were nearer to the coast. Thanks for being able to come along with you and enjoy your beautiful island walks instead.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful walk ! I like wild landscapes. Hope the rapids will come back ! For me the pebbles would be a paradise because I transform them into cats ! I paint with acrylic and the stone looks like a cat. People like that and on expositions I have sold quite a few. Here I have to go in a garden store and buy my pebbles !
ReplyDeleteSuch beauty on this lovely walk on your beach! I do love the ocean. The lovely rocks so polished by her mightiness. The last photo of the large rock looks like a heart to me! Your soups sound wonderful, how can I choose? ♥
ReplyDeleteHow sad about the rabbits. I suppose it’s nature’s way. You’re brave ones to go out to the sea in cold weather...it is starkly beautiful. I like that rock that has a heart-like shape. It would look good in your garden. 😉
ReplyDeleteTomato and red pepper for me please, and I expect it tastes all the better for an invigorating walk. X
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful walk. So sorry to hear about the rabbits, that is so sad.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so wild and woolly with icing sugar sand and a clear sky. Beautiful
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, delightful!!!! Although I'd not make it that far,on foot!!! Not these days.
ReplyDeleteBut if I could get someone to trundle me along that brook, and to the shore!!!! Now that would be delightful!!!! :-)
You are so lucky, to live, where you have such, to enjoy!!!!!
Oh yes, may I please have a small cup of both soups? ,-))))
un paesaggio suggestivo, bellissimi gli scogli, fai dellel foto davver molto d'effetto! Mi viene voglia di mare. u abbraccio
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy that walk. Love to be at the coast.Soup sounds good.
ReplyDeleteThat was a lovely walk but brisk. Now I'm ready for that soup...both sound so good.
ReplyDeleteI am reading this just as I have come in from my own brisk walk and am still a little out of breath. I would have loved to walk along the little brook with you as long as I didn't have to venture too close to the ocean. I have a question. Are there some living on the island who never leave it? I am sure there are. I am quite sure I would be one of those. :~)
ReplyDeleteWas Gerard with you on this walk? It looked like quite a lot of effort! The stones on the beach are pretty.. they look like granite.. did you put at least one in your pocket to take home? ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have such a magical shoreline to enjoy in every season.
ReplyDeleteWonderful beach photos, how lucky you are to live in such a beautiful place. I remember seeing rabbits with myxomatosis around the woods where we lived as a child in the 50s not a pleasant sight. I'm sad it is back. Both soups sound delicious I wouldn't know which to choose:)
ReplyDeleteA great place to enjoy your stroll! The soups sound delicious.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see a picture of your house. The setting looks idyllic.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I'm missing beach.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics!! I hope you will post photos once your doll house make over is finished...Thanks so much for stopping by!!
