My Christmas makes continue and I now have the added luxury of Christmas music now that we are into November. What a great sing along we have as I craft...this time a stag wreath.
Tulle and some curtain ling were cut into 8" strips and tied onto the ring.
I did 2 strip lining 1 strip tulle pushing the strips quite tightly against each other to make the wreath as full as possible.
A little feathery embellishment to add a little luxury.
A painted wooden heart added to the bow, finished it off nicely. The bows are a little addictive I then went on to make several to be used for the mantel.
The Christmas decorations and indeed tree that we have are a little too large for this cosy cottage they swamped the rooms last year. It is my intention to reuse as much as possible but downsize some of the decor such as the tree. We have already passed some of the ornaments on to our daughters who treasure some of the memories of previous years. Have you made a start on Christmas yet?
As always I do thank you for your support, comments and emails.
See you soon.
Love that Stag Wreath. You are clever. Wind has eased a lot here today.
ReplyDeleteThose decorations are so elegant!
ReplyDeleteThat is so brilliant. Where do you get your ideas from? X
ReplyDeleteLovely decorations. I've made a start on buying a few gifts but not on any crafting.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty your wreath is, such a great idea too. Stay safe and warm in those gales:)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I baked a Christmas cake today - now running out of steam... I hope the wind will slow down a bit for you and maybe the sun will make an appearance, how nice would this be. Still pretty windy here but nowhere as bad as last night. x
ReplyDeleteThat wreath is just lovely! I have made a start - bought some paper, tags, cards & a couple of decorative odds & ends last Thursday - and I've sorted through everything else to decide what I'm going to use this year. I'll do the cards this coming week and I'm deciding what my list will look like. Not a lot of gift giving these days - mostly consumables so have to top up the baking supplies as well.
ReplyDeleteAs would be said down here in the west of Scotland “pure, dead, classy”.
ReplyDeleteReally lovely work and I look forward to seeing the makes in place.
Sorry about all that wind, hope you get some rest today. But I think you will be cooking and making more incredible projects. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI do hope there is no damage to your sweet cottage. Your wreath is quite elegant and so soft and lovely. I have been doing some early shopping in preparation for Christmas. Unfortunately, no handmade crafts here. ♥
ReplyDeleteThat storm sounds terrible. We had a bad windstorm yesterday...my gate fence is open and I must go out to close it. Yes, I got a wee start on Christmas and shared it last week at A Haven. And I even listened to Christmas music while doing dishes yesterday. Your wreath and the bows are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat is such ch a beautiful wreath and bows. Your creative never fails to amaze me an dyou get so much done too. We have the same problem with too many decorations and our tree is too large for our space. Downsizing will need to begin before much longer.
ReplyDeleteStay safe in the storms.
Blessings,
Betsy
That wreath is absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLooks like great minds think alike :) I love your white wreath is looks so cold and icy and truly beautiful for winter. Well, fancy to me is the stuff that is silky and filmy and not good for much other than ballet costumes and such. What you used on your white wreath is fancy fabric to me. I only purchase it when I have a special project, then the remains end up in my fancy box, LOL. I'm so happy you like my wreath, too.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Sunday.
Connie :)
It must be a bit scary when the wind is howling around the house, but on the other hand it's cosy too because you are inside. Of course only if there is no damage. My sister in law in Italy had a big storm too, roofs flew away and trees fell, but she has nothing fortunately. I love you wreath looks very elegant !
ReplyDeleteDo hope the storm will pass soon, and you won't discover any damage, when you go out.
ReplyDeletePrecious Stag Wreath. All white, is lovely.
✨✨✨✨✨✨
The wreath is gorgeous. It must be fun making these beautiful decorations as you plan for your Christmas in your cottage. Wishing you well during the stormy weather and hoping you don't find any damage due to the strong winds when you're able to go out again.
ReplyDeleteYou are so inventive when it comes to decorating. The stag head on the wreath was my favorite touch of yours!
ReplyDeleteOhh , that's beautiful xx
ReplyDeleteI think it's so clever of you to revamp your decorations, I do hope you'll take photos of it all when you have it up. We're having our living room carpet steam cleaned today so it's all stripped bare for the cleaner to do his work. I want to put back much less than what was in there!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteThat wreath looks blimmin gorgeous. I start playing Christmas music from December 1st... In fact it is full on Christmas from 1st onwards.
ReplyDeleteSmall wonder if you're tired today. One can't sleep soundly when the storm is raging outside!
ReplyDeleteYour wreath is lovely. Oh, I'm listening to Christmas music now that I've turned the calendar page to November.
Really pretty wreath! I hope the storm lets up soon and that you didn't sustain too much damage. Hopefully when things have calmed down you'll be able to catch up on sleep. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of decorating a bit less this year, maybe. I have Holly the Cat who is one year old and she is inquisitive and can be naughty. So maybe a smaller tree with non-interesting ornaments (as in not fabric or yarn..or made by my mother!). We will see. I hope you sleep soundly tonight!
ReplyDeleteGood to know that the storm is over. You are so talented and creative. Love your Christmas decoration. Looking forward to see your Christmas tree.
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative!
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning! So pretty and creative. Jane :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It's given me an idea for over our mantelpiece.
ReplyDeleteNo start on the holidays here although crafty folk such as yourself, Lorraine, are well underway. I will be sending cards using my own photos this year which is a change from previous years of sending Hallmark cards. We have not yet started on any gift buying etc for the grandchildren but are waiting for suggestions from their parents. We would like to give them "experiences" vs. plastic toys that are forgotten so soon.
ReplyDeleteFriend, I can never get over how talented you are!!! I love the simplicity of this wreath. It is beautiful. I've been listening to Christmas music, too! There is nothing better than crafting and singing along to Christmas music. :)

A white and cream natural wreath is such a pretty thing. For being tired you did create something beautiful. I'm glad you weathered the storm well and hope that things calm down for awhile now.
ReplyDeleteI've begun a few Christmas gifts - need to get cracking on them.
it looks so beautiful!!!!!!great work.

Hopefully the cottage suffered no damage from the storm. The picture you paint in words of your cottage is warm and cozy, and now with Christmas music even more so. I love the wreath!
ReplyDeleteHope all was well with the cottage.
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative, love all that you do.
Really lovely wreath and bows, Lorraine! Thanks for sharing your projects as you withstand the gales. I am on holiday hold as we organize inspections for the pending house sale, but I should unearth some Christmas music to cheer us on! xx
