Yarn Along

I have had quite a busy week so not a lot of time for crochet or reading, although I did find the time to finally finish About Grace, which I really did not enjoy I must learn not to get so silly about things and just give in when it is not a suitable read.  I haven't sewn the cushions together yet, it is on my to do list which is growing by the day every time I look at another Christmas book.  I have decided that this is my final project for hand crafted gifts...headbands in crackers for the ladies and key fobs for the men.

 A very simple headband finished off with some delightful vintage buttons.

I loved how the book made the crackers and then did a beautiful tartan table setting, showing them off in their full glory.

Holiday Treasure

I did bring back rather a lot this time including my wedding jewellery, my darling husband treated me to a Swarovski necklace.  I have now got my outfit, hat, shoes and bag which I am delighted about.  I really do hate last minute panic and the wedding will be here before we know it.  It is now less than 5 months to go.

I had a field day with the sales and got stacks of scrapbook paper and embellishments and used coupons for fabric and yarn.

I got lucky with patterns and books, a collector sign, vintage buttons (I know I really don't need anymore buttons, I just can't help myself), a rug needle, vintage sewing machine needles and a packet of vintage needles.

 

I really couldn't say what is in the Disney bag...

Two Finished Throws

Finished the throw, it looks quite impressive draped over the chair.  It makes quite the statement I feel.  Drum roll........

Not bad eh!

I went for quite a simple border to finish 1 round of dc in the main colour and then 1 round of each of the contrast colours in dc, finished off with a shell edging in the main colour.

 



 

Simple but effective.  I have finally finished off the blanket for the nursery.  I added a little teddy bear head to go with the theme of the room and finished it off with a ruffle border.

 Its all ready, warm and comfortable for my next little visitor.  The nursery is looking quite good, even if I do say so myself.

 I finished the whole thing off with a little cushion made from fabric I bought from my friend Jone at Vintage cottage on the street of shops Renningers, Mount Dora.  A cushion fit for a prince or princess.  The quilt is hand stitched and finished off with teddies and recycled or vintage buttons.

 I made two quilts of the same so that there would be no arguments if we had two little visitors, both made out of old curtain and then backed with a vintage cotton.  I am now starting a rag bag to make a rag rug, something I have never made before but I like to have a go at most things.  You Tube has become my new best friend now I can operate a computer, I am learning how to spin.  It is definitely a slow process,  but at least I have made a start.  I will look into a course once the weather picks up.  Finally happy valentines day, wishing everyone a romantic weekend.
