There has not been the same issues here, the past few days have been showing signs of Spring and have been quite uplifting to both the body and soul.
Sadly, it didn't last. Whilst we still haven't any sign of snow the temperatures dropped rapidly overnight. The Siberian Beast from the East has frozen everything here in its path. The pools of water across the moor are frozen and any water droplets forming icicles. A beautiful sight, although only from the car window, it is Baltic.
We drove across the moor in a quest to establish what if any effect the closure of roads would have on the supermarkets here. The ferries are still running although there have been some issues with flights, mainly due to problems on the mainland.
As we went into Tesco the fresh produce was limited with big notices up saying there was a delay with deliveries due to problems on the mainland. The perfect excuse to go for fish and chips...I know, I am weak! They were good. We then went back and they had restocked and once again the fresh produce was plentiful.
We are now back home safe and sound with mugs of hot chocolate and a roaring stove. I am so thankful for our warm and cosy cottage.
