Our journey started three weeks ago on a very wet, dreary and stormy morning. We sailed from Tarbert on the Isle of Harris in gale force 5/6 which made for quite an uncomfortable journey. Sadly it didn't improve once we reached Uig on the Isle of Skye, the rain and driving winds continued. The dark skies and heavy clouds made for some stunning photos. We did have a drive around the Island and manage to capture some of the beautiful scenery. Another beautiful Island.
We did have a couple of bright moments and a glimpse of the sun but sadly they didn't last for long.
...we did wonder if he really was grumpy! We were slightly bemused looking for a causeway to cross to the mainland which turned out to be a bridge and certainly a lot shorter than anticipated. The journey through Scotland was a joy marred slightly by the awful weather but the views were incredible. We stopped for a picnic at Ballachulish Marine and enjoyed the breathtaking sights from the car.
The weather certainly dominated our journey but didn't detract from the incredible views and amazing skies that were a delight, despite it slowing us down.
We have spent quality time with our beautiful daughters and their little families. How those Grandchildren of ours have grown in such a short period of time. We certainly had lots of little adventures together, I have so much to share but will save it for another day. We have Lucy our youngest daughter and her little family arriving tomorrow, they are having a wonderful time in Aviemore at the moment. I thank you for your patience as I try to catch up with everyone, it may take awhile. I also thank you for your continued support and encouragement.
See you soon.
