Thankfully Storm Francis passed us by as expected, we did get a flurry of wind but nothing too much out of the ordinary. We are also thankful there was no rain so I would call it a good drying day. I managed to get all my washing dry in a very short amount of time. At times it was blowing almost horizontal on the line but it gave us something to focus on and laugh about, much needed in these strange times.
We took a short drive down to the Port of Ness to have a walk but there seemed to be a few people about so decided to drive back on ourselves and take a look at our favourite beach. It was certainly blowing but not cold and was quite exhilarating watching as the waves make there journey to touch land and then recoil to start surging forward all over again. There was some crashing and thrashing as the water hit the shoreline but certainly not the destruction anticipated or as expected of a storm. Take a look for yourselves, the pictures talk for themselves.
beautiful soothing views where you live!
ReplyDeleteThat sea looks crystal clear. It looks so blue too or is that just my screen
ReplyDeleteYes, you are right it was very blue you could be anywhere in the World the beaches are so beautiful. Shame we don't get the temperatures or you could pretend you were on a Mediterranean Island.
DeleteGlad the storm wasn't too bad where you are. We got the rain and the high winds, it was very cold this morning but it seems to be warming up again as the day goes on.
ReplyDeleteI love a wild sea, ours had lots of white horses on it yesterday. You live in a beautiful part of the world by the looks.
ReplyDeleteAh, jigsaws, we haven't started them yet but they'll be out again soon when the weather declines.

I don't live near the sea but do live very close to one of the Great Lakes and I love walking down there when the wind is blowing and the waves are crashing - it really is quite exhilarating. Enjoy your puzzle.
ReplyDeleteFrancis woke me up several times this night because the wind howled around the house ! My room is just at the corner. But no damages here, elsewhere in Belgium yes. I love your sea photos with the rocks and the white waves, that's so beautiful ! Meanwhile I have nearly finished unpacking everything and we are very happy in our new home !
ReplyDeleteI smiled at your clothes horizontal on the line. That is the one thing I've missed so far is my clotheline at the house. I have a little stand with bars on it that I set in the sunshine to dry clothes on but it takes a bit longer than a line.
ReplyDeleteThe weather has certainly been strange all the world over hasn't it? Two hurricanes, (tropical storms), hitting the gulf here in the States at the same time. With everything else happening in the world, it gets to be a bit much and so off goes the television and I isolate myself from the news for a bit.
Take care my dear friend. I keep you and Gerard in my daily prayers for health and safety.
Blessings,
Betsy
Lovely photos, MM, what a beautiful place you live in.
ReplyDeleteHigh winds here too but, thankfully, no real damage this time x
Lovely sea photos....the water looks as blue as the Med! I must say I do like to watch a turbulent sea and the bigger the waves the better,at a safe distance of course. No High winds here although there has just got to be a downpour in the next couple of days. It is so close, hot and humid. Amanda x
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos of the sea and that deserted beach. We didn't get such strong winds as with Storm Ellen, but we certainly had plenty of rain and the garden is almost done for. Not sure if we can resurrect the beans!
ReplyDeleteThe thought of doing a jigsaw or settling down with a film sounds very cosy. I have been Battling With Apples here, though I did manage to get rid of two goodly bags of windfalls to visitors today! They were very grateful (but not half so grateful as me to get rid of them). SUCH a huge crop on all our trees this year.
So fortunate not to have the surging waves and the high winds, though I think your washing enjoyed them! We have had very dangerous seas in Cornwall and there have been far too many accidents, sadly.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the storm didn't do any damage for you. The sea looks very calm and the beaches look deserted. Nice that you could go walking there with no other people around.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sea shots with the aqua clear color. If you put on some jig music, you could really have fun watching the clothes dry on the line.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful blue-green sea. I'm glad you didn't have any damage there. Staying indoors and doing a jigsaw puzzle or movie sounds like a nice way to pass a rainy day.
ReplyDeleteYou must have very strong clothes pins. Who knows where your laundry would be if it took off!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you suffered no damage at your home during these storms. It's always nice to see your lovely ocean and shoreline. The last pastoral photo is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteStunning pictures!!! Glad that the storm was not too bad....Thanks so much for stopping by!! Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Debbie
I am glad the storm just passed by without doing any damage. With such strong wind, the washing will have to be secured with clothes pegs to prevent them from being blown off. Take care and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos.
ReplyDeleteI put extra pegs on my washing yesterday but it was OK.
xx
I'm glad to know the storm was not too bad for you. It's satisfying when clothes dry quickly on the clothes line. A walk overlooking one of your beautiful beaches must have been uplifting as you listened to the sound of the waves and saw that bright blue water. When the rain comes I picture you both in the warm shelter of your cosy cottage.
ReplyDeleteGood the storms weren't so bad, bad weather like this scares me! The views are spectacular on your pictures!
ReplyDeleteApart from the washing, it all looks calm and idyllic! Beautiful
ReplyDeleteQuiet before the storm or versus :)
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures !

Such good news that the storms were not as bad. I love the sight of clothes drying out on a line. Such a picturesque place where you are! The sea, the beach and the cliff with the little building are all so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI’m glad the storm passed you by. The color of the water in the sea is so pretty. We dry our clothes on a clothesline too, although not many others do. I love the smell of the wind and the sun in the clean clothes when you bring them in,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you made it through the storm without much damage. Nice coastal views. Our temps are in the low 80s degree which is good. I left this a.m. for an appt and it was almost chilly near 10 a.m. I am enjoying a bit cooler weather and have seen some squirrels lately. I am going good. No work for me at hardware store any more, unfortunately! God has a plan for me. Take care and have a good time together. We may be watching a movie this weekend. At home, of course,no movie theatres open yet.
ReplyDeleteTake care, have fun, be safe. God bless!!!
Becky
Pleased that the storm passed you by, the photos are wonderful you live in a beautiful spot.
ReplyDeleteYour coastline is magnificent. I am glad that the storm passed you by.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Beautiful photos! I’m glad the storm wasn’t bad for you!
ReplyDeleteGlad you were not affected by the storm, stay safe.
ReplyDeleteGood to read that aside from the high winds quickly drying the laundry (lucky you) that you or your cottage was not in harm's way. Staying inside doing a puzzle on a rainy and stormy day sounds perfect to me.
ReplyDeletePleased that the storm wasn't too bad for you.
ReplyDeleteI do like your photographs, the sea looks an amazing colour, beautiful views.
All the best Jan
