We are without a doubt having a mild winter but the winds and constant rain are starting to depress me a little. As usual this morning we woke to the rain thrashing against the window almost horizontally, intermittent internet and finally a power cut that lasted seconds. What a joy to finally see the sun shining as the morning progressed and dancing shadows as the light moved around the room. Little things can bring so much pleasure.
I continue to do well at the heart rehabilitation, baby steps but each week able to do a little more. I am still getting breathless but thankfully not as much chest pain. I do thank you for your concern and your prayers, it is a great comfort.
Last week whilst in town we went to Ann Lanntair for lunch and to stroll around the latest exhibition. What an amazing sight to see. It was an open exhibition in multiple genres by artists resident in or from the Outer Hebrides. There is a lot of talent about in my opinion but I will let you judge for yourselves. I enjoyed picking out some of my favourites.
The lunch was very good too. The restaurant looks over the harbour so it was a delight to see the ferry come in and know that there would be fresh food in the shops. It was so nice to enjoy a treat out in comfortable surroundings and enjoy each others company.
Is the weather taking its toil on you? I am more than ready for a little colour...
See you soon.
Glad all is progressing well in the heart direction. Some very interesting art work there, lovely colour tones. Yes, we too are fed up with grey days and any days that bring sun and blue sky, even if with a cold wind, lifts our spirits.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun. We are having the longest overcast stretch and it's really getting to me. I need an outing too.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful exhibits. These few days our weather is nice and cool.
ReplyDeleteI love that rocking crib.. is that what it is? The weather here has been really quite nice. Frequently blue sky and sunshine
ReplyDeleteFantastic exhibition. Glad your health is under control, may it continue.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a really lovey exhibition.
ReplyDeleteThe weather plays a huge part in my moods at this time of year but I'm pleased to say that I'm faring rather well this year, it hasn't only been mild but there's been plenty of sunny days too, and even if it's grey, as it is at present, we've still seen a bit of sunshine to lift my spirits. So pleased to hear that you're doing well with your rehabilitation, long may that continue. I do hope that Gerard is keeping well too. Some lovely pieces of artwork there, and what a treat having lunch out overlooking the harbour, it's nice to make a little date of a trip out.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing mix in that exhibition, so many talented people.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the ferry arrived with some fresh fruit and veg for you
Oh Lorraine, it is so good to hear that you're feeling a bit better and actually felt well enough to go to the exhibition and take photos to share. It looks like a lovely time. And I'm also glad that the ferry was able to arrive. What a relief that must be.
ReplyDeleteOur winter has been dreary too. Several weeks of snow and cold every day and then rain constantly. A strange winter to be sure but I would rather have rain than the snow.
I'm keeping you and Gerard in my prayers daily my dear friend.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
Wow, looks great!
ReplyDeleteWe love art exhibitions. I think I'll have the boat hammock! We've bought 2 paintings by a local artist. The weather here today was lovely, but now the wind has whipped up again and it's turned chilly. Best, Jane x
ReplyDeleteOh my.. such great art in your area! I just loved the baby bed boat, what a treasure! It would be fun to see it's baby in there. Some great photos and paintings too. I'm glad you're feeling better and getting out and about which will perk up even the worst weather. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice art fest... you have some very talented folks about. I especially enjoyed the photography. So glad to hear you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteA little culture, bay watching, dinner out...all good. So good to know that your health is improving. Hope you have a way to introduce some much needed color. The house is colorful enough, but outdoors is pretty blah.
ReplyDeleteVery cool exhibition. I particularly like the painting in yellow. It reminds me of the artist Turner. We don't often realize what talent there is around us. Phil
ReplyDeleteYou go to some of the most interesting places! Some really beautiful art! Hope you have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteThankfully we had more snow, so there is white, outside the windows.
ReplyDeleteBut oh yes, sunshine is so welcome, after days of clouds or rain. It just makes one feel sooo gooood. -smile-
Glad that your health issues are coming along. Best of luck.
Some lovely art there!

Lovely art works. Have you had problems with intermittent ferries? I was reading the BBC page and there was an article talking about the ferries not running in high winds and inclement weather. If you were in need of medicines and not able to refill it would the NHS help you?
ReplyDeleteA very interesting exhibition with a wide variety of entries. I like the first one best, I think; I suppose one would call it Collage. It's the kind of project my oldest daughter has made.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful art exhibit, such a range of works.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
How great that you were able to get out and attend the art exhibit and then go to lunch. Better yet to read that you are feeling better, Lorraine, and hope your progress continues. I especially liked the winter scene painting with the camper.
ReplyDeleteOoh there's so much to browse in the exhibition, you could have stayed there for hours. So glad you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI think I went too far and commented already on your previous post concerning this sad and depressing weather ! I don't get email notices anymore when somebody has commented so that I have to check each time my blog if somebody has left a comment very annoying. I asked Blogger for help and apparently I am not the only one !
ReplyDeleteNothing like a blue sky to be happy !
ReplyDeleteWe have rain here too but waiting for a blue sky Monday and 20ºc...we'll see....
Take care !

sounds like you are doing better! That is good :) My MIL is very depressed with all the dreariness this winter, I call her daily since she enjoys my phone calls. (she's in Canada) We are going to some art museums soon when we are in the big city. I cannot wait!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a very enjoyable day out — and art exhibit, good food, a change of scenery. I am glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. We’ve been having some dreary weather, too,and it affects me as well. That’s winter for you, I guess!
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear you are feeling better bit by bit. Prayed for you. It's good you are able to get out and about to enjoy the sites, and some good food with your honey. Loved seeing the artwork….very interesting pieces! Stay warm and cozy. Debbie xo
ReplyDeleteGood to hear you are doing so much better.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy art exhibitions and a good place to eat is always a plus for a break.
Our weather here where I live has been mild. Not much rain nor any snow. When it's winter, I would like some winter. I am sure with days on end of dreariness it must be depressing.
Happy Saturday to you

Good to hear that you are progressing well with your health, slowly but surely. What a lovely place to visit, the exhibition looks a wonderful mix of subjects:)
ReplyDeleteI don't have an email address for you...so I am here to thank you for your lovely comment you left at the Lakehouse post. I am sure you are the type of mom, and grandmother I was talking about...one worthy of the Lord. It shows in your own posts here at your blog. Your love and compassion for your family always comes through...as well as your love for God!!! I am blessed to be a Sister In Christ. Debbie xo
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing the art exhibit, Lorraine...amazing variety of works! I am glad you are well enough to be out and about enjoying the exhibit and a lovely meal out. xx
ReplyDeleteSo good to read that you are doing so much better.
ReplyDeleteI hope Gerrard is well too.
Lovely to see the art exhibition photographs, they are always interesting to visit.
All the best Jan
Thank you for taking us to the exhibition with you. I love how art reflects the things that are important to the local communities in which the artists practice.
