Tale of Woe

Since my computer had a recent update of Windows I have been unable to access any of my photos or upload photos onto my blog.  I am so frustrated with the whole ordeal.  Patience I suppose is a virtue so I will not give up yet and persevere with it to try and share the photos of our Disneyland Paris experience and of the beautiful Villages Nature Paris - Center Parcs which is where we stayed.  This is becoming a saga and indeed a tale of woe.  I rely on my computer to keep in touch with family and friends who love to see the photos that I take of our surroundings so it certainly is a disappointment.

I also have photos to share of an amazing exhibitions at the An Lanntair, it is a real treat and shows the work Of Tom Hickman.  We also had lunch at the Castle and took a stroll through the grounds, such a beautiful sight as we enjoyed the leaves dropping and the changing colours showing all its seasonal splendour.  The different hues with a backdrop of the harbour is magnificent.

I have kept myself busy making new pelmets for the kitchen windows and cooking up a storm in the kitchen.  Adding chilli oil and pickled red cabbage to the store cupboard.  I have also used the slow cooker to cook up red cabbage with apples in red wine for the freezer, a delicious treat for the cooler months.  I have had the tedious task of altering several pairs of trousers that have been languishing in my wardrobe for quite awhile.  Trousers are always way to long even a petite or short fitting as I am only 4' 11" tall.

Hopefully I will have some photos to share on my next post.

See you soon.

  1. Shortening trousers is the bane of my life. Tony is only 5ft 2 and we can never buy trousers that fit his leg length. Looking forward to seeing more of your lovely photos when you manage to sort the glitch,

  3. Have you recently had a lot of computer updates? I had a similar problem, earlier this week, I eventually found that I had to change internet and access settings.
At least you have had plenty to keep you busy! I love this time of year, making, preserving, filling the pantry shelves and making lists. I hope you manage to fix your settings and regain access - so frustrating.

  5. Oh no, beastly computer, I'm sure it will suddenly sort itself and your photos will appear and work properly. I couldn't use Instagram for a couple of weeks and then it righted itself and I was off again. I'm looking forward to seeing everything soon, it all sounds wonderful.

  6. The computer can be a blessing especially for keeping in touch with family and share photos as well as messages. Sorry to hear that you're having technical difficulties. When I bought a new laptop I had to learn how to download and edit photos with different programmes because it had an updated Windows. I hope you'll be able to work out what to do to access your photos and load them onto your blog. Meanwhile happy to read what you have been doing recently. I have to shorten trousers too. I'm sure you make a good job of the task as you're an expert sewer. May you have a nice weekend.

  7. Computer woes are frustrating indeed. We have taken to calling a local service that comes right to the house and have had great success with them. They come promptly and have never failed to fix the problem.

  13. This will sound like an echo...computer troubles are so annoying. They should just run and perform no matter what. Hopefully, you have a computer geek friend who can help you out. I have two or three computer geeks in the family and they have helped me out of a jam quite a few times. All the best!

  20. We will have to update to Windows 10 soon and I dread it. I am afraid everything will change, and I have a hard enough time with Windows 7. Oh, your last post is just wonderful. Visiting Dover Castle and the white cliffs of Dover would be a dream come true. Reading this made me want to hear Vera Lynn sing "The White Cliffs of Dover" so I did. It gives me chills. Love your posts! Hope you can load your pictures soon.

  30. I need to upgrade my laptop to Windows 10 as it's required by Jan2020. Sigh. Hopefully you'll get your problem fixed soon too. I need to hem Megan's jeans as hers are long too...longer than they used to be. She rolls them up. I remember cutting inches off my pants and they seeing the hems by hand. I made applesauce the other day. Still have a box full to do. May give some away as I don't have a lot of time to do it. I do have canning jars though. Enjoy your day my friend!!
