Flourish

Last Saturday I joined many other women from all over the Island to take part in a Christian conference, FLOURISH.

What a fun day we had.  A wonderful speaker from Edinburgh, some delightful singing of praise.  Time for discussion and fellowship with a wonderful lunch.  The talk broken down into three sections was on Exodus.

Where is God?

Who is the Lord?

God is the Rescuer?

There was also several stalls to browse, each giving an address on their work.  It was an encouraging, uplifting and inspirational day spent with women that I barely knew.  Yet I came away having spoken to so many and felt their hand of friendship.

Once home I began my journey of exploring Exodus and throughout the past week have doodled in my Bible so that I can enjoy his word once again.

Whilst creative I am not an artist and admire the skill of many who journal in their bibles.  However I do enjoy the process.

I also came away with a lovely gift bag mine held a beautiful pansy, a soap and a bookmark.  A lovely reminder of a very lovely day.

Thank you for your visit to my blog and your uplifting comments.  A warm welcome to a new follower, I do hope you enjoy my little adventures through life.

See you soon.

  1. That is a lovely Bible you have. I'm slightly confused though - are the doodles done by you or are they printed in? Loving the pansy in the tin can too - gorgeous idea!

  2. Both. There are some that are printed for you to colour and some that I have done myself.

  4. I too enjoy the twice weekly meetings I attend at the Kingdom Hall and the association with the brothers and sisters. I love studying God's word. The meetings and bible studies help me to understand what the bible teaches. The bible really is God's word to us. Best, Jane x

  6. It sounds like a wonderful event. It's nice to get together with people, especially those you don't know or don't know very well, and make new friends in the process. Your bible is really lovely and you're making it your own with your wonderful illustrations.

  7. Oh my gosh I love that bible, I’m going to try and find that one! You’ve done such a beautiful job with yours, it’s lovely ! I just bought a new bible and I didn’t see one like that, I bought the new international version in a lovely pink leather, but if I had seen yours I would have bought that, I love it!

  8. I was going to ask the same questions that "Fugally Challenged" did. What lovely artwork. It makes the Word come alive doesn't it? I'm glad you had such a special time with the other ladies. I think that's really a big part of our faithwalk. Making friendships over common beliefs. I would have loved to attend with you Lorraine.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  11. I'm pleased to hear you had a nice time Lorraine, as I said to Betsy above, we have Crowned events for women at our church a few times a year. I've never been brave enough to go. We (my husband & I) go to connect groups which are once a fortnight. My sons go to their own separate ones on the same night - youth and the young adults. Teen 2 in youth is more dedicated but that's probably normal as when you are an adult and work - your own personal commitment is needed as opposed to Mum taking you.
I've never written or drawn in my bible, maybe I should mark favourite verses as it'd be used more. I bought a new bible last year and am very happy with it. It's a NRSV with horizontal print except the 2 column psalms. Have you seen the Christian colouring books, a friend bought me the Grace one, I think you'd like them. There are 3 now. Take care, Cathy x https://justcardsdirect.com/products_search.php?search_string=colouring+book

  12. It's always fun to be with other Christian women at a convention. Music is a special part I like and hearing His word taught. I'm looking forward to the Beth Moore event in Eugene in July. A great speaker for the Lord! Thanks for sharing! Yes...God rescues us!! Have a blessed day!!x
