It was Mothering Sunday here in the UK yesterday, such a wonderful day of love for me. Thank goodness for modern day technology enabling me to keep in touch with my three daughters and their little families. In truth little surprises arrived in the front porch on Saturday. A beautiful planter, a pot of tete a tete, a bouquet of tulips and hyacinth and a bunch of daffodils. Along with cards and more gifts. I was certainly a very spoilt Mama.
The beautiful spring flowers finally prompted me to get my act together and arrange the Spring/Easter decor. It didn't take long but was worth the effort as it made both Gerard and I smile. We always have a Easter tree and this year was no exception.
I am also a great fan of a wreath. This one as made a few years ago but is still good enough to come out and hang of a small cupboard door.
The tea trolley service station is the perfect place for a Easter display.
Shame about the shadows but I am thankful for them it means that we have some sun. It seems to have been a very long Winter this year and I feel in dire need of some sunlight. We did actually have a drive out and sat in the sunshine for a while, taking in the beautiful views, but I will share that in another post.
Do you change your decor around for the Seasons?
A warm welcome to new followers, I do hope you enjoy my little adventures through life. I am looking out of the window and would you believe it, more RAIN! Not conducive to the plans of getting my washing out to dry, but that is life here on the Outer Hebrides all the seasons in one day...lol! Thank you for your visit and I hope the sun is shining down on you, wherever you are.
See you soon.
We used to do an Easter tree when DS was small but don’t bother now. Quite a tradition in Germany but unknown here at that time. Still got the decorations though so might get them out! Lovely presents.
ReplyDeleteLovely Spring items, cute☺
ReplyDeleteI love all those little bunnies in your display.
ReplyDeleteI smiled all the way through reading your post. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely gifts! I like the idea of an Easter tree but I've never actually done it, even though I have some decorations to hang from it. I think it's because I couldn't do it until Easter Sunday (I can't feel celebratory during Lent) and by that time it almost feels too late. Perhaps I'll do it this year, though. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spring flowers and you have decorated for spring beautifully. Mothering Sunday sounds so nice, Mother’s Day in Canada is May 12 th, I think, hopefully our snow will be gone by then!😊
ReplyDeleteOh I can't wait to see some spring flowers here as well. Happy Mothering Sunday...we have Mother's Day in May. I would say, I like Mothering Sunday name better... Your Easter collection is sweet.
ReplyDeleteNot as much change of decor as in years past. Your Easter decor is cheerful and cute! And all your Mother’s Day gifts are darling as well. Yes, long, hard winter. The whole northern tier needs some sun and warmth...I am starved for it myself.
ReplyDeleteEaster decor is so pretty isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI love your table runner.
I don't tend to decorate for anything other than Christmas.
Glad you had a lovely Mother's Day.
Hugs-x-
So happy you had a lovely Mothering Sunday.

Already prepared for Easter with lovely decorations !!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a shinny week !

I always used to do an Easter tree, but a bit nearer the time. I have to root out my little cache of decorations first!
ReplyDeleteSome lovely gifts. The blue hyacinths and yellow tulips are so pretty and the plants in the planter will continue to give pleasure. I see there are sweet little pansies there. I do decorate for Easter with an Easter display, but nearer to the Easter weekend. I shall have to look for some old branches in the garden so that I can hang up little seasonal decorations. I also have those knitted chicks like yours. I think they can be used as boiled egg cozies. Wishing you a good day whatever the weather.
ReplyDeleteI just pulled out my Easter and spring decor too. Yours looks so cheerful. We're getting a little more sun here, I'm thankful for that. It is always so cloudy all winter here in Michigan, it really is hard to stay cheerful and energetic. The sun is so welcomed here!! You got some lovely treats for Mothering Sunday. xo
ReplyDeleteHow lovely your Easter displays are. I love that cow jug too! I wish I had some spare time so I could rustle something up, but we are going flat out to get the house and garden spruced up ready to go back on the market. Perhaps I could do an Easter tree when our eldest daughter comes down next month . . . Hope you get more sunshine soon - we have been making the most of ours and outside every waking moment.
ReplyDeleteI love your Easter decorations. I have some very similar Easter tree ornaments. I have yet to get mine out, but I will soon.
ReplyDeleteI love how similar our Easter/Spring decorations are!! I enjoyed looking at yours very much. I hope you get more sun.. we've enjoyed several days of it here in Oregon, USA.
ReplyDelete❀.•❤•.✿.•❤ Happy Easter! ❀.•❤•.✿.•❤
SO much GREEN in this post!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love your Easter/Spring decorations. Also your Mothering Sunday gifts. What a sweet family you have.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so pretty and I love your cute bunny display. Our snow has been melting. Happy Spring.
ReplyDeleteThat planter is beautiful. Now I'm inspired to try and build one. Phil
ReplyDeleteHow sweet to be thought of from afar and receive the gifts on your doorstep. I do minimal seasonal decorating other than at Christmas. A few things will come out for Easter and I suppose it's time to do just that.
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring days to you. I hope it cheers you with lots of sunshine.
What a special Mothering Day it was for you! Such beautiful delights that will bring smiles to your heart for days to come! So wonderful to be loved and thought of on that day! And yes, it is always so fun to decorate for the seasons! Hoping that you get some more lovely sunshine soon :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful Mothering Day for you! So nice to received all those love gifts sent from love ones. Happy Mothering Day to you!
ReplyDeleteYou had a wonderful day full of happiness and flowers. I'll have to get all my Easter bits and bobs out, it's not that far away now.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely gifts, your seasonal decorations are lovely.
ReplyDeleteI can see how all those beautiful Mothering Day surprises inspired your decorating! They are so pretty. I like the name Mothering Day. All of us were “mothered” by women who did not give birth to us and must feel quite left out when it’s just Mothers Day. Your term seems to include them all.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your Easter decorations. I just bought a wreath with Easter eggs yesterday, and hung it on the front door. I've always wanted one. I know what you mean about the sunshine; my clean sheets are hanging out on the clothesline.
ReplyDeleteHappy mother's day! I usually do decorate for seasons but I feel like skipping Easter (no reason...). Love your spring views and your decorating!
ReplyDeleteI love your Easter decorating. I am hosting Easter this year so may "copy" some of your ideas if you don't mind.
ReplyDeleteHappy (belated) Mothering Day to you Lorraine. The gift plants were lovely to see. Yes, we do decorate our apt entry for holidays and seasonal. I have some small rabbit figurines and eggs and after Easter will change to a spring motif.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a good Mothering Sunday. I have changed some of my seasonal decor as well, and added two more little sheep I was given to my little flock on the table beside me. :) xx
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you had a lovely Mothers Day, I did as well.
ReplyDeleteI think your tea trolley is the perfect place for your Easter display... I've yet to do mine.
All the best Jan
Glad you enjoyed a lovely Mothering Sunday, such a lovely display with beautiful plants & flowers. It's been good to see the sun recently but it's still a bit chilly in Lincolnshire. Have a good week, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteNo mistaking the season at your house. It looks lovely - spring and Easter lovely.
