Sandalwood Soap

Another day and this time another soap.  I needed something a little more masculine so that  I had a additional gift for the men in my life.  This time still using melt and pour so nothing to taxing a scent of Sandalwood added and little orange colouring.

I did have fun with the swirls which adds a little interest to the finished product.  Alcohol rubbing oil was sprayed over them and became the glue which keeps the whole thing together.  I did have difficulty locating it as the chemist in town didn't stock it and when I tried to order it on line they wouldn't deliver to the Island.  Those that would the postal charges were more than the spray.  All is well that ends well, I have some now.

The orange section at the bottom was an argon oil based melt and pour that I added a little orange colouring to.

Packed in cellophane and tied with some natural twine.

We are going to have an easy day today, I may do a little crafting but Gerard has had a flare up of RA.  It is affecting his ankles and knees and he his struggling so we will keep warm and rest today.  Tomorrow is another day.

Hope all is well with you.

See you soon.

  12. What interesting ( and no doubt wonderful smelling) soaps you make. The simple way you package it also suits a more "manly" soap.

  14. Just caught up again with your news and continue to admire your creative crafting...the interesting variety of game bags and soaps!! And I am so excited about the arrival of your feathered friends and that all in the household welcomed them :) Did I tell you that as a child I lived on Flying Feather Chicken Farm in Andover, MA, for about five years in the early 1950s? You and Gerard are in my prayers for healing. So glad you safely and cozily weathered the storm. I finally finished a preemie blanket this morning that was six months in the making. Your industry continues to inspire me! xxxx

  18. Oh I hope Gerard is feeling better today. To be in pain is a miserable thing. I can almost smell that sandalwood... takes me back to my teenage years

  19. Soaps are works of art-I would not be letting anyone use those-they would sit in a pretty dish to be admired! Would vodka do instead of rubbing alcohol? Just a thought and a liitle bottle could be purchased. Sorry to hear about Gerald’s RA flare up-this dampish, cooler weather is hurting my dodgy hip no end.m

  23. Fine soaps and if I could I would order a couple. I like the color and the way you present them. Sorry to hear about Gerard. Stay warm and rest. I have joint aches with the damp weather here. I hurt more right before a rain, if that makes any sense, don't know why but I do.
