Five on Friday

I am still reflecting on my wonderful break away to Holland and some of the wonderful scenes I feel privileged to have seen.  Consequently my Five on Friday this week are five things that made my holiday extra special, five things that I want to record so that I don't forget. 

 
Tulips from Amsterdam.  A gift from my beautiful daughter.
 


 
A stroll around a market at Haarlem, browsing at the beautiful fabrics and haberdashery stalls.  A feast for the eyes and the beauty of some of the amazing ribbons and laces.  Yes I was tempted and despite my resolution not to yes I did pick up a few bits and pieces.  It would have been rude of me not to.
 

 
The hundreds of bikes everywhere never ceased to amaze me, they were indeed everywhere.  How on earth do you find yours?
 

 
The cakes and desserts were another temptation that we succumbed to regularly, our justification being very childlike we were on holiday...
 

 
Finally the deer and the ability we had to be so close, we were truly privileged.  My five on Friday, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

    Lovely tulips and cakes! :)
    The town views are very interesting. Of course one must buy some local fabrics and taste the local cakes when on holiday!!

    loved your five this week. Haven't been to Holland for years but enjoyed seeing the tulips fields so very much, maybe that's why I love tulips so much x

    Absolutely wonderful photos!!! Holland is on my bucket list. I would love to visit there some day. You're so blessed to live in Europe and to be so close to so many wonderful places to visit!!!     Holland looks like an absolutely beautiful place to visit. I never really thought of Amsterdam as a place to travel but now I will have to put it on my list!

    I've only been in Amsterdam for a 9 hour layover and a whirlwind tour of the drizzly city with a toddler who kept falling asleep every time we would stand still for too long. But I was there long enough to know I would like to go back some day to explore a bit more. :) Best wishes, Tammy

    It is almost 40 years since I was last in Amsterdam but we are to go again this summer. I will be looking for the markets with the beautiful lace, just too much temptation there. Thanks for sharing
