My husband treated me to a Call The Midwife CD with music from series 1, 2 and the Christmas special for the grand sum of £1. I am looking forward to listening to it in my craft room.
I was a great fan of the series and loved the music, so I am looking forward to listening to it.
20p was spent on my next buy, 2 sheets of stickers for scrapbooking.
There was a whole box full that I did have a rummage through but they were not to my taste and I have stopped buying things that I wouldn't use. The 2 sheets I did buy I loved both having a vintage feel, so very much to my taste and a real bargain.
Finally, a £1 was spent on 5 packets of seeds, all in date and another great bargain.
We picked out 2 packets of sunflower seeds, we thought these would be a little bit of fun for the grand children to measure, there original price was marked at £1.99. We also chose a sweet pepper for hanging baskets, we have a couple of spare baskets so thought this would be a cheap alternative for filling them. What was a surprise was the original price on the packet, a whopping £3.69. We also picked out Land Cress, something we have never tried before so not a lot to lose if we are unsuccessful. £1.89 was the original price. Finally a variety of Tom Thumb pea for container growing which we have had before, £3.89 was the original price. All five packets for £1, now that is what I call a bargain. What bargains did you pick up this weekend?
See you soon.
I have not been to a car boot sales, don't know whether we have it over her. I like the stickers too. You had a good bargain for the seeds.
ReplyDeleteLovely bargains. I've never been to a car boot sale, which is probably a good thing because I would buy far too much of things I don't need. I think you were very restrained to only spend £2.20.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Lorraine!
ReplyDeleteI really like the stickers you chose - you could make gift tags and homemade cards so nicely with them, too!
Have a wonderful day!
Hello. Good bargain with the seeds. The CD looks fabulous, I loved the show as well-really rounded off the weekend nicely watching that. Have you read the books? They are a bit grittier than the programme and just as enjoyable. x
ReplyDeleteHaven't yet, but certainly looking forward to at some point.
DeleteSome great finds and definitely a great way to have spent a few hours and not spent a lot! The seeds should definitely be a good thing shouldn't they! xx
ReplyDeleteThose vintage style stickers look lovely and a real bargain. Did you read the Call the Midwife books? I read them before the TV series was made and they are very good! Xxx
ReplyDeleteI haven't yet but I will when I get some time, its on the list to read.
DeleteGood purchases !!!
ReplyDeleteNow you have some gardening to do, scrapbooking and cd to relax !!!
Have a nice week !

Beautiful stickers and plant seeds! Did you like the book?
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, Sandra
I haven't read it yet, but it is on my list to read.
DeleteWonderful finds!

I really enjoy watching Call the Midwife series. Their music is great. I bought a dvd set of the first to fourth or five season awhile back at Costco, a membership warehouse in the US. My daughter and I have been slowly watching that. We didn't much of the first season til the very end of it. The sticker find is nice...I'm a sticker person as well. Good finds all around. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat bargains! I have never been to a car boot sale, something I must change. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this either but it sure sounds like fun! I have only watched Call the Midwife a couple of times and did enjoy it. It looks like you hit the jackpot with those seeds too!
ReplyDeleteSweet peppers in a hanging basket. Now that is a great idea. My kids love growing peas too and will quite happily suit in the garden eating them straight from the bush But not cooked and on a plate. Mad isn't it!

Great bargains indeed ! None for me this weekend ... hugs
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! My brother-in-law goes car-boot-saling almost every weekend. Perhaps someday I will have the time to go pawing through and finding the occasional treasure. I do nip into charity shops when I get a chance. I haven't read or watched Call the Midwife - something else I am reserving for when I have a bit more of my own life! I don't think my squeamish 17-year-old daughter would really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful finds!!!! We're starting to see some garage sales popping up around town and I'm looking forward to them for sure!! xoxo
