Problems Blogging

Thank you as always for your support and understanding with the lack of posts lately we have been having technical issues with connecting to the internet.  It has been so uplifting to know that I have been missed and thank you for your lovely emails and messages asking where I was.

All is well with us both, we are both keeping well and safe.  Gerard has a compromised immune system due to the medication he takes, so is particularly careful in this current climate.  At the moment there is no reported cases of Coronavirus yet on the Western Isles but as we all know this could change at any time.

We are keeping busy and enjoying many of our hobbies.  It has been good to explore the copious amount of craft materials that we have.  It has given us both a clearer idea of what is available and a list has been formed so that we can get on with a few things.

We are hoping that the weather will pick up a little so that we can make a start on so many of the jobs that need doing outside.  We are going to start setting up the seeds in readiness for onward planting in our garden room.  We stored all our outdoor plants out there over the winter and they have done so well.  We love the rewards homegrown herbs and vegetables fresh from the garden, worth all the hard work.

We had prepared for this lockdown with lots of books and jigsaws so we have plenty to occupy our minds.  Technology has become our new best friends and we have enjoyed daily contact with our daughters and grandchildren when the internet allows.  Food hasn't been an issue as we had recently filled the freezer and restocked the store cupboard.  If anything it has made us a little more frugal, making things last a little longer.

We are blessed with wonderful neighbours who keep in touch by telephone.  The Church have whatsapp groups which are uplifting and last Sunday a service was done via a podcast which was such a joy.

In a World that is changing so fast all we can do is the best we can.   Know my dear friends that you have all been in my thoughts and prayers.  Take care and stay safe.

See you soon.

  2. Really good to hear from you again, Mama. I never knew how good a "remote" church service would feel until I needed it!

  3. Just been out for a shop, almost normal amounts except pasta. One person out, one in. That’s it for now for at least a fortnight or longer if necessary.

  5. It's good to get an update and to know all is well. Different activities will keep you occupied such as quiet hobbies, jigsaws, crafting or home improvements. I'm glad you have stocked up with essentials and have good neighbours. Here we are the same. Neighbours are rallying around by texting and supporting one another. All the best!

  7. I am surprised that in a place where there are no cases, that you still are on lockdown. An abundance of caution I suppose.

Ih the things that will be accomplished and the new products that will come from your stash of materials... Looking forward to seeing it all.

  9. Hoping your area remains free of the crud going round. Looking forward to seeing what you guys get done in the way of projects. I've sold my house in Mississippi (luckily right away before I even put it on the market) and have resettled with my middle daughter and family in Illinois. We are working together to care for her two kids, 7 and 10, and they are able to work from home. Keep us posted on the happenings of your area. Stay safe.

  12. So lovely to hear from you, and that things are going well. I'm doing some embroidery and am using colours that I have rather than what is on the chart. Stay cozy and comfortable in your island cottage.

  13. Lorraine! It's SO good to hear from you. I woke up in the middle of the night last night thinking about you two. And here you are! It had just dawned on me that I was missing your blog and emails. I'm so glad all is well with you both and that you have plenty to occupy your minds and hands during this time of enforced isolation.
We have many cases of the virus here in Washington State and so I'm here in the house for the duration. I am also considered i the high risk group I'm keeping busy at home. I love being home so it's not a hardship. We got the ZOOM app set up for our Bible study and will have our first meeting tonight. We've been watching online church services too.
    You two take great care.
    Blessings and love,
    Betsy

  14. Sorry that you have had technical problems. Happy they are fixed.

Concentrate on the simple things. The things which were always there. But the rush of modern life, made us forget. -smile-

    Gentle hugs,

  15. Good to hear you are well Lorraine. The internet is a magical thing, isn't it? It helps us stay in touch with people far away without having to wait for weeks for a letter to pop through the letterbox. Although of course letters are nice, too. Take care

  19. I am so glad you are safe and in a - currently - virus free zone. We have relatively few cases in our 3 rural counties (the old Dyfed) which come under the Hywel Dda health board) and praying it stays that way, but even so my husband (age) and me (health issues) are not going to the shops.

Crafting will keep us sane I hope, when the weather keeps us indoors but loving the warm spring weather we are having this week.

  20. It's so good to know that both of you are doing well and that so far there are no cases of Covid-19 on your island. Now if only warmer weather would arrive!! Keep well, G.M.

  21. So good to hear from you and know you are okay. Living on an island, maybe you will be safe from the virus. I hope your computer problems can be solved soon. I would be lost without my iPad during this stay home period.

  30. The irony of the pandemic is that I feel more connected with folks around the world, especially when I read posts from folks in many different parts of the world who report similar cautions they are taking to combat and protect themselves from the virus just as I am here in the USA. So glad you and Gerard are well...you are daily in my thoughts and prayers with love. xx

  31. It's good to read that you are both safe and well prepared. Solidarity with your husband about life with a compromised immune system. It is an anxious time but you would expect that living on a remote island would afford you some protection.
Thank goodness your internet is working and you can stay otherwise connected through that medium.
Enjoy a 'holiday at home' with your leisurely activities. Who knows, you may find you are super productive without the regular daily distractions of life before covid19

  32. A GREAT SPELL CASTER (DR. EMU) THAT HELP ME BRING BACK MY EX GIRLFRIEND.
Am so happy to testify about a great spell caster that helped me when all hope was lost for me to unite with my ex-girlfriend that I love so much. I had a girlfriend that love me so much but something terrible happen to our relationship one afternoon when her friend that was always trying to get to me was trying to force me to make love to her just because she was been jealous of her friend that i was dating and on the scene my girlfriend just walk in and she thought we had something special doing together, i tried to explain things to her that her friend always do this whenever she is not with me and i always refuse her but i never told her because i did not want the both of them to be enemies to each other but she never believed me. She broke up with me and I tried times without numbers to make her believe me but she never believed me until one day i heard about the DR. EMU and I emailed him and he replied to me so kindly and helped me get back my lovely relationship that was already gone for two months.
