A quiet weekend, enjoying each others company and content just to potter. I finally had a trip to Boston on Friday so that I could pick up some wadding to do Honey's quilt. It has been a project that has no urgency so is constantly overlooked. Now that I have the wadding I intend to make it a priority and get it done. I always enjoy projects that involve the children, every stitch is a stich filled with love.
I have done the odd row here and there on the cowl, I am still enjoying the pleasure of the Alpaca yarn such a delight to work with.
I am over half way already and it really has been the odd row here and there.
Good food and good company is all that was needed to make a great weekend.
Sometimes a quiet weekend for reflection and contemplation is a refreshing change to the busyness of everyday living. How did you spend your weekend?
See you soon.
I love those kind of weekends where you're free to do as you please. After arriving home from holiday, my weekend was spent catching up on washing and ironing, I'm really pleased that I got the majority of it done now as it's raining again today.
ReplyDeleteI need to eat a salad, we just got back from a long weekend and my diet was awful. Love your cowl!!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at someone elses sewing and spotting some of my favourite fabrics. The cowl is very pretty and the food looks sublime. I spent the weekend knitting, drinking tea and eating, I could do with a few days fasting now.
ReplyDeleteI love to collect vintage patterns too! I have used a few. The quilt is going to be lovely, and the cowl scarf is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGood food and company make the perfect weekend! That cowl is beautiful ♥

The cowl is looking gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYes a quiet weekend now and again is absolute bliss isn't it. Ours was quiet this weekend after babysitting and a sleepover three weeks on the trot-x-
The cowl is developing beautifully and looks so soft and cosy. Looking forward to seeing the quilt when it is completed, such pretty colours and definitely stitched with love.
ReplyDeleteQuilt looks good. When you are making for friends it really is such a joy. Jo x
ReplyDeleteI think quiet weekends are the best kind, which is why I'm constantly in pursuit of them! Haha. I loooove your quilt squares, they're looking great. The colors are beautiful. Lovely shawl too, it looks so soft and light. I hope you're having a good week so far!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a lovely weekend. The quilt and the cowl are coming along well. I think alpaca is a lovely fiber to work with. So soft. Our weekend was a busy one but nice too. A new bed was purchased which for me, is stressful. Which is why we had our old one for so long! :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
It looks like you had a nice cozy weekend doing fun things.. your cowl looks gorgeous.. so similar to my alpaca natural white shawl I made. Your salad makes me hungry! We just took it easy over the weekend. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteOh the salads look delicious. And the quilt...want to see it done...looks like a quilt for a doll.
ReplyDeleteI decided, I'm going to try to make a little bit larger quilt.. Love the little quilt and the salads look great. Have a blessed evening with love Janice
ReplyDeleteYour quilts squares are simply lovely! I can't wait to see it when it's all done :)

Not such a quiet weekend here because of having another yard sale in the heat. Your are such a sweet person. I enjoyed your post. Now I need to get a bite of something to eat, after seeing the food on those plates.
ReplyDeleteHello Lorraine, I love your Alpaca cowl in the making, it will be like a soft hug! And the quilt is coming along nicely. Your salads look very tempting! :) We spent some time with the youngest daughter visiting her in Gent and then going on a long walk/hike in wonderful warm sunshine. Then we stopped at a pub and sat in the garden with a chilled drink, it was lovely!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

Looks like you had a lovely weekend with some sweet projects to work on. When you mentioned going to Boston I was nostalgic. I grew up near there....Love all the vintage patterns in your last post, too. I sewed bridesmaids dresses for two weddings in my family a few years ago. It took months.....I collect vintage patterns, too :) I went to a retirement party for my husband's boss last weekend. It was bittersweet.....Your salad looks wonderful! xx Karen
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely weekend to me.
