This week we are joining Amy over at Love Made My Home for the weekly get together and highlighting five mediums for treasuring our memories.
One
Photographs on mugs. Gifts from our Grandchildren. They are actually not used for drinking out of, I use them as storage in my craft room.
I see them everyday and everyday they made me smile.
Two
A beautiful wooden tray, filled with photographs. It was Bertie's first trip to Disneyworld, lots of wonderful memories to treasure.
It actually stands on our desk by the computer so that we see it everyday. Once again treasured memories recorded.
Three
In the same vain, coasters from the first trip to Disneyworld for Lily and Daisy.
They stand on the coffee table in the lounge in a beautiful stand. Once again a major event in our Grandchildren's lives recorded so that we can treasure the memory.
Four
Scrapbooks. A wonderful hobby and a enjoyable way to record special occasions.
Rain never stops play here, I will go into the craft room and do another page or two, it always brightens my day.
Five
Photograph albums
The ever increasing collection. This is where all the oddments go. I made a stack of albums using Harris Tweed so they do look good on shelf. They are well loved albums that the children and I love to browse when they visit. A visual reminder of events in their lives.
We have Victoria and the boys visiting this weekend, so I am off into the kitchen to get some baking done. Scones, trifle and a carrot cake are on the agenda for sweet treats. What have you got planned?
See you soon.
I really like that tray idea. How clever! I have a set of those coasters with christmassy pictures in that come out every year in December.

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to read about your husband not doing well. I hope he's feeling better soon. Chronic pain is so horrible. I'm loving all of your photos!! When my father passed, we had to clean out his apartment and I took the mug that we had given to him when my three sons were little. It had their photo on it. I have it in my cabinet but I think I'm going to bring it into my office so that I can look at it every day. Lots of wonderful memories in all of your photos!! Have a beautiful weekend, my friend!! xoxo

I love these ideas. I feel you can never have too many photos of children and grandchildren. The memories are wonderful. Moments in time, captured forever.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
What wonderful treasures. I have always wanted to do scrapbooking, it's a lovely idea.
ReplyDeleteScrapbooking is fun. I have one where postcards are placed. Usually they sit in sacks I bought them in or ziploc bags to keep them safe. I think the grandchildren would enjoy seeing old photos. I have a photo mug of son's family. I don't drink from it any more. It starts to fade. I'm making a cake for picnic after outdoor church Sun and going to the rodeo. Glad hubby is getting better, slowly but surely. Continued prayers. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful treasures! Love this post.

Having all those keepsakes is wonderful! I hope your husband is starting to feel better. It must be hard for both of you when he's suffering from a flare up of his arthritis.
ReplyDeleteYour keepsakes are so pretty. I started scrapbooking many years ago and I just don't enjoy it. I have most of my photos in some sort of album, but my older ones need updating as they are the sticky page kind. I have been trying to put those picture in scrap-books. Yours are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely ways in which to preserve memories. For me I'm finding it easier to blog/record our memories having originally started a memory making album for our eldest.
ReplyDeleteI have some of the photo mugs, too. They are so precious!
