Red sky in the morning, Shepherd's warning.
This is what I woke up to this morning, a beautiful red sky. A warning for unpleasant weather to come so they say, but so far the day has been uneventful weather wise.
I had a wonderful gift from my eldest daughter for Christmas encompassing the two things that I love, Disney and crochet.
A start has been made on the Mickey Mouse, my favourite of all the characters...
I wonder how many I will have to crochet once the children see it?
Thank you for all your comments on my last post, it was wonderful to hear about some of your experiences. Its always comforting to know you have some support. A warm welcome also to new followers, I hope you find something to interest you on my little adventures through life.
See you soon.
Oh, how NEAT!!!! What a thoughtful and absolutely perfect gift for you. I can't wait to see how Micky turns out! What a fun project for you to be working on!
ReplyDeleteScary about the red sky - we didn't use shepherds, we used sailors, as I grew up on the north coast of the states on one of the Great Lakes - and I have never ever had that red sky thing be wrong. Hunker down, stay warm, safe and dry over across that Atlantic, my friend. Hugs!
ps been really enjoying Downton Abbey - don't tell me how it ends, as I know you know! ♥
Disney crochet looks like fun! I love the beak on Donald Duck, the shaping is great. I hope the weather doesn't become too threatening. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteooo what a fun pattern :)
ReplyDeleteLovely sky pictures
I was just pointing out to my husband how we use sailor instead of shepherd for the red sky saying. Can't wait to see your Mickey Mouse. Things you make seem to turn out better than the picture.
ReplyDeleteWe say sailor take warning....
ReplyDeleteA fabulous gift from your daughter. You'll be kept busy once your grandchildren start putting in their requests.
ReplyDeleteI have muttered that phrase to myself morning & evening since I was a child. What a lovely gift from your daughter - very fitting x

ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings to you!
There was a gorgeous red sky as I was driving to work this morning but also another red sky as I was driving home this evening so not sure what that means. Can't wait to see Mickey Mouse when you have completed him. xx
ReplyDeleteYou might be making a zillion of those. I've been asked to make several amigurami crochet things for the kids and ended up making 6 teddy bears, 2 Angry Bird "things" and lots of other things. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteA crochet Mickey, brilliant, I shall look forward to seeing him evolve. A gorgeous sunny day here as well, and another one forecast tomorrow. Beautiful sunrise photos. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteGoodness me....you are so clever. I'd never be able to do anything like that. Can't wait to see it finished.

What a great gift, I think Mickey is going to be so cute. My mum always used to say that rhyme when I was little and I've said it to my two growing up too.
