Car Boot Finds

We got up this morning and at least it was dry so decided to go to the local car boot sale for a stroll.  I was actually on a mission to find toys for the nursery.  All the grandchildren are visiting over the next couple of months for lengthy stays, so new things were needed to maintain interest.  I was thrilled when I found a fuzzy felt set.  It certainly was a blast from the past, my 3 daughters used to love playing with that when they were little.  It came in a beautiful wooden box and was in perfect condition.  A snip at £2.50.

My next find was a herd of elephants of various sizes 16 in all.  Perfect to add to the box of animals and dinosaurs.  Bought for a cheeky £2.

2 books for 20p.  I will never understand how little value is placed on a book.  My grandchildren and I will have hours of fun reading them together.

Finally for the children phonics flashcards, alphabet and word games and Thomas interactive flashcards.  I know a certain little lady will love them.  Both sets for £1.  I have just sat and counted out all the cards and they are all there and in perfect condition so a real bargain.

A pleasant stroll and a successful haul of goodies.  I wonder how much  I saved...

See you soon.

  1. Such awesome finds!! We don't have car boot sales in my area. We have garage or yard sales. I think car boot sales are more of a European thing to do and I think it's a phenomenal idea. In fact, I was thinking of asking friends if they were interested in organizing one. Most people have mini vans nowadays so you just load up the back of the van, park it and you're open for business. Such a simple but brilliant idea at the same time!! : ) I'll keep you posted!! : ) Have a beautiful weekend!! xoxo

  4. Fab finds. I get most of my grandchildrens toys from boot sales because they are such bargains. Now I am collecting books for nursery age children for my step daughter who is beginning her first teaching job in September. Their book corner is sadly lacking and I have got her lots for very little money. As you say, undervalued.

  6. Well done on your finds, your grandchildren will have hours of pleasure. Big car boot fans in our house, great way to recycle and up-cycle. Oh my days you did have rain! hope you are in for a better week-surprisingly Wales has been sunny so far-quite unlike us.
