Mothering Sunday Weekend

What a wonderful weekend I have had.  Saturday saw me spending quality with my dear Mum.  We actually went to a combined rummage sale and craft fair organised in the local town.  An unusual combination I must admit but it was certainly worth going to.  There was a stall selling lucky bags of craft items, £1.50 per bag or 3 bags for £3.  I picked up 3 bags and were delighted with the results.

There was a collection of Spring/Easter stamps which will certainly come in useful.

Ribbons and lace.

A wide selection of card stock in some very enticing colours.

Embellishments.

Chipboard tags/ribbon/foam shapes and gift tags.

A wonderful haul for very little money and a great outing as well.

Sunday was Mothering Sunday here in the UK and so I went down to my daughter Amie's home.  I was spoilt with some wonderful gifts and a delicious afternoon tea.  She certainly put on a wonderful spread.

This photo is not showing it all, there were also sausage rolls, mini quiche and of course copious amounts of tea.  A feast for the eyes and the stomach, it really did taste as good as it looks.  Unfortunately not long after our visit Amie was once again taken into hospital.   We are awaiting more news.  She certainly has not had a good pregnancy.

Bertie was thrilled with the blackboard that we made him for his shed/outside play house.

We added a hook at the bottom so that a cleaning cloth could be hung and also his name, which he loved.  He is getting really good at recognising letters and writing his name.

We bought him a new jigsaw, which he loved and was very quick to show how clever he was at doing jigsaws.

I am blessed with 3 wonderful daughters who all rang me, e-mailed me with photographs and were very generous with gifts and cards.  But what is much more appreciated is the acts of love, phone calls, emails and such all year round they never miss a day without some contact  I truly am blessed.

See you soon.

  14. What a great bargain those craft items were. Glad you had a good Mother's Day, the afternoon tea looks wonderful. I do hope that the rest of Amie's pregnancy goes to plan, it sounds like she's having a real rough time of it, poor girl. It will all be worth it in the end though.
