Yarn Along

I have had an enjoyable week with crochet, still making accessories in preparation for the Winter and some for gifts.  I have completed a scarf this week using a Helen Ardley pattern from issue 13 of Simply Crochet magazine.

It works up quite quickly and uses just chains and treble stitches.  I have also started another lacy shawl which I love.

The pattern can be found in issue 29 of Simply Crochet.

Reading has been slow again this week so I am still reading Snow Geese.  I have however been constantly using A Field Guide To The Birds Of The British Isles.  There are so many birds constantly in the garden at the moment so I am using the book to identify them.  My husband and I have spent many a happy hour at the window just observing, hence the lack of reading.

I am having a giveaway in celebration of 100 followers, so please feel free to pop back to my previous post to join in.

I am once again joining Ginny over at Small Things for the yarn along, why not pop over and see what everyone else has on their needles/hooks.

See you soon.

  1. we had a lot of different birds at the old house, not so much here. Once they get more houses built and everything grows they will start to come along I think more. Love your shawl.

I love watching the birds too. We get the most delightful little fairy wrens here, as well as willy wagtails. They are such fun to watch.

  10. Pretty scarves. I love both colors you've chosen. We keep a bird field guide by our large front window where we have a double bird feeder. Makes for quick identification when we see a stranger, but it's also fun to just read through at times.

  18. Gorgeous crochet, beautifully stitched. Our bird guide is never far away, in fact we have more than one. We've been watching a crow's nest from the window, it's been fascinating.

  28. We have a lot of birds in the garden just now as well, and all for them very early risers. And loud. But I forgive them the wake-up call, there is just something about birds.
