It isn't very long since they were here last and yet Hector has grown so much and now laughs, one of the most beautiful sounds in the world.
He loves his ripple blanket and Victoria always uses the dribble bibs I made for him. Who can resist a smile like that?!?!
We had a trip into Skegness and watched some of the street entertainment, always a joy when you have someone to share it with. Wilbur loved the pantomime characters and is arranging his next visit around the workshops he wants to do.
We enjoyed the music and the holiday atmosphere...
Back at home we played some traditional games in the garden which included making Granny run with the kite, be a monster, follow my leader and the old time favourite What time is it Mr Wolf? The dog is still in training on how to play tag, he is not doing too well, he still has a lot to learn.
I was grateful that the weather stayed dry but disappointed when you see the temperatures around the rest of the UK, there have been times when it felt more like a winters day than a summers.
I have finally made a start on the garden and managed to get the lawns both at the front and the back mowed. The washing is hanging out to dry and I have made a start on weeding the vegetable plot and planters. I will take you on a tour on my next post, when I have tidied up a little. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
See you soon.
Oh what a joy, Lorraine - and you are right, Hector has the sweetest smile!
ReplyDeleteWow, I haven't gone kiting in forever. As soon as I saw your pic of it the Mary Poppin's "Let's Go Fly a Kite" song came into my head. And not just because you're across the pond, haha. ♫ ♪
Hope you enjoy many more delightful visits!

Seems you had a wonderful time with your little grandson. It is nice to spend time with them. Our weather here has lost its mind for sure it a drizzly morning, like we are in winter fall I just don't know. The lawn looks great. Have a wonderful day today. With love Janice
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great way to have spent the weekend. Making memories with the family. Looks like you had fun.

It looks as though a good time was had by all, I hope that you get some good weather soon. I used to holiday in the Scarborough/Filey area in the early 80's and we never had a bad week for weather. That is a fair bit North of you, the weather has changed quite a bit recently and the seasons seem to have blurred and chopped and changed a lot.
ReplyDeleteI love your grandchildren's names and yes what a wonderful smile, couldn't help smiling along with it. Its been very hot here in East Yorkshire, though chilly in the evening yesterday. Your garden looks so lovely and green xx
ReplyDeleteHector is as cute as a button! Looks like a lot if fun has been had, even if the weather wasn't perfect.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a wonderful time with them. Hector has gotten very big! He's adorable. I love your dog, what a beautiful animal. Big poodles like that are very smart dogs, I've found. I'm sure he'll be playing tag in no time. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful weekend you enjoyed, shame about the weather though, it got out nice here even though it hadn't been forecast. Hector has grown since we last saw him, he's adorable and Wilbur looks a real live wire. One thing's for sure, he'll keep you on your toes.
ReplyDeleteHector has really grown! They grow up too fast. Your weekends with your sweet family always looks like lots of fun. Makes me miss my grandchildren when they were small.
ReplyDeleteSurprise visits are wonderful. It looks like you enjoyed every minute!

ReplyDeleteI I'm with you on the gardening and washing having done a patch of weeding yesterday and put the washing out. Making granny run with a kite wasn't on our agenda due to lack of granny. Actually a kite was missing too. Sounds like you had a fun time though.

Keeping you busy there grandma. We went to Mabelthorpe last week and it was freezing. I wore my PJ t-shirt under my normal top! It was so warm here in Shropshire. Jo x
