One
I have now completed the cards that I need for June which includes a Birthday card for Mum and a Fathers Day Card.
Two
The cupboard door is now aligned and has been lifted into the bedroom. The colours are perfect for the guest room and matches all the other décor in there.
Clothes hangers were painted and adorned with a lace shabby chic flower to give it an extra dimension.
Three
The children's clothes hangers were finished and added to the Christmas cupboard, I usually buy them an outfit for over the festive period so this will be the perfect thing to hang them on.
I will distress them a little later once the paint has settled.
Four
The burlap picture is now complete, the buttons were stitched on a card secured on the back to hide all the stitches. It is the perfect match for a chair that I had done previously.
Just need to decide where to hang it.
Five
Finally I have had a few sessions of jam making to stock up the cupboard. We are great fans of jam with scones, an easy make for when we have visitors so nice to have some in hand.
Blackcurrant, some of which has already gone to my parents as it is one of their favourites. Made using tinned blackcurrants, a really cost effective way of making it.
Traditional strawberry using fruit that had been reduced in the local supermarket.
Pear and ginger, using some pears up that had been lingering in the fruit bowl, waste not want not...
This was an experiment using a very large tin of oranges but worked incredibly well.
We have tried and tested them all strawberry came top for my husband, the pear and ginger for me although we were quite partial to the blackcurrant and then the orange with the added port had a lot going for it...
The rain has stopped today so I am hopeful of getting some jobs done in the garden.
See you soon.
Glad things seem to be more on an even keel for you but my you have been very busy. Want to steal your painted hanger idea if you don't mind, such a simple but very effective thing to do, just love it. Goodness me to all that jam making, great idea to make from tinned blackcurrant, would never ever have thought to do that! Genius that woman. Thanks again xxx

ReplyDeleteSo nice to hear that everything is getting back on track for you.
ReplyDeleteWow to all those jams. They look amazing. I don't make jams or chutneys any more as we don't eat them much now and for what little we do eat I just buy them in.
Have a lovely weekend-x-

Lovely cards! That is something I like to do as well! Thanks for your visit today!
ReplyDeleteYou got so many things done. I especially like your ideas for jams. I looked up recipes for pear and ginger jam and got...get this...467,000 hits in 58 seconds. Isn't the internet crazy? I think I will try that jam when pears are in season. I make a lot of jams ( we love our scones too) but haven't made any with pears for years.
ReplyDeleteGoodness you have been busy! You are an inspiration to me. Love those hangers with the flowers on them and your cushion and picture go perfectly together. I hope your weekend is a wonderful one.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Goodness! Do you ever sleep? You've accomplished in one week what would take me a month. Love the hanger with the flower and congrats on getting your cards finished. I think cards for men are very difficult.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see all your accomplishments next week.
You have been busy busy busy! I do love those hangers! And for Christmas...what a planner. That port jam....is that port as in the alcohol...that I happen to l.o.v.e. Would love that recipe!

You have been a busy busy lady. Your cards are beautiful and I adore what you've done with the hangers - so sweet. I'm in the process of saving jars to make jam later in the year. Home made jam is delicious. X
ReplyDeleteWhat a busy bee! Glad all is going well now :-)
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that all is good now. Very pretty cards and you have transformed to plain looking hangers into something so special. Home made jams are the best!
ReplyDeleteExcellent post x
ReplyDeleteI am in awe of your work and you've inspired me to create some cards in time for Father's Day. I love the shabby chic look you have gone for with the hangers and chair cover.
ReplyDeleteI'm a simple scrapbooker not a card maker so hats off to you for making two gorgeous cards for your parents. All your jams look yummy, I think strawberry would be my choice. Love the French fabric on the chair and the coat hangers for the children's outfits are lovely.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and thanks for visiting Normandy Life.
You have been very, very productive, in such creative ways. Love everything!
ReplyDeleteThat was very inspiring! You seem to have the ability to get lots done - and lots of it ahead of time. The little hangers are adorable and will be a lovely addition to the Christmas gifts. I like the idea of making jam as the opportunity (or fruit!) arises. I don't know if one can buy canned black currents here, but I will look. I am waiting for figs to come into season and then I will go into production, as fig jam is so very expensive.
ReplyDeleteI'm late getting around to the Five on Friday posts this week. You have accomplished so much! Impressive. Raspberries are beginning here and I'm hoping to make some jam with our home grown berries.
