Not a great week, who knew earache could be so painful.
Two
I have started to make cards that are needed for next month but still have a Fathers Day card to make and a Birthday card for me dear Mum to complete.
I did manage to use some buttons on a couple, which made me smile.
Three
My husband and I have finally got to work on the cupboard that we bought some time ago. It is now painted and had the new handles put on. Just some minor adjustments to the doors as they are not shutting properly and it will be complete, ready to be lifted into the bedroom.
I posted about buying this cupboard on 16 Aug 2014 but am having trouble linking back so that you can see the before picture. I am ashamed to say it has taken so long for us to do something with it.
Four
I have started to make a piece of artwork, using printed burlap to cover an old canvas.
Some gold buttons and an old brooch completes the new look. Just need to add the twine at the back for hanging.
Five
Finally I am in the process of making some hangars for the Grandchildren for little additions to their Christmas stockings.
A start has been made painting them and I have sorted out some Cath Kidston stamps and fabric to finish them, giving them a vintage shabby look.
A topsy turvey kind of week, with nothing really being accomplished.
I am joining Amy over at Love Made My Home for the weekly get together. Hopefully everyone will have accomplished far more than me. Thank you for your wonderful comments and for your lovely e mails enquiring where I was, sometimes life just takes over like this week. I will catch up with everyone as soon as can.
See you soon.
I hope you are better now.
ReplyDeleteNevertheless you're still busy with lovely creations !!!!
Have a lovely and relax weekend !
Anna
Sorry to hear you've got such a bad earache, it's as bad as toothache I think, you have my sympathy. You've made a lovely job of the cupboard, and I love the new artwork, the fabric is brilliant. I hope all will be well with you, your husband and your dad. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric of your Love artwork. The presents for the grandchildren shall look great when finished. Wish your earache goes away! Great weekend!
ReplyDeleteEwwww....earache is nasty. Hope you get syringed soon to relieve it.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the printed burlap and what you have done with it.
You're not on your own with taking your time doing things. Currently on my list is a coffee table that needs chalk painting, a fire surround that needs stripping, staining and varnishing, a plant stand that needs shabby chic'ing and a hall, two staircases and a landing that need painting. I am not in a painting mood at all-x-
Hope your ear is back to normal now. You have many projects to work on and you do many very pretty cards.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear you are in pain, I hope it clears soon x
ReplyDeleteI love your number 4 !
ReplyDeleteAnd as for earache, I have been in pain most of the week too, i went to the dentist and they must have hit a nerve as the side of my face feels numb and I have a blocked ear with an earache that comes and goes, Doctor said it was an infection and gave me antibiotics, but they don't seem to be working - back to both the dentist and doctor in 2 weeks! Do hope you ear ache resolves itself, i do empathise - :(
I hope you get some relief from the earache soon. I love the artwork and I'm looking forward to seeing the coat hangers when you've finished them, I think they'll look really pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh I hope your earache is soon gone. That is so painful. I do like all of your makes this week. The hangers are a great idea! Feel better!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
I had tom have my ears syringed a while back, nasty business but the relief is amazing. I have never thought about painting wooden hangers, I made slip covers for mine but painting would be faster, and you can have a rainbow.
ReplyDeleteI feel for you with the earache, my ear is very buzzy this week. Love your craft projects.
ReplyDeleteI hope your earache is better now. Wishing you a painfree happy weekend. x
ReplyDeleteEarache is definitely not a good thing to suffer from, hope you are feeling better now so that you can enjoy the weekend. xx
ReplyDeleteOh dear poor you, hope your earache soon goes away so you can get on with everything happily again. X
ReplyDeleteYou seem to have achieved quite a lot despite the difficulties, with plenty of creativity going on. Ear ache can be so debilitating, I hope you feel much better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh, dear I hope your earache disappears soon as it can make you feel so miserable. You have amde some great cards and the art work in number four is wonderful:)
ReplyDeleteAwe I feel for you and hopefully the oil will do the trick.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter in France took her little 4yr to the Doctor with earache this week too.
With ageing parents, medical visits are all too common, that's progress in the medical world.
Sorry I had trouble with the preview thingy - I haven't mastered this new edition to the comments box!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a very relaxing weekend.
Shane
I hope you are better from your earache. The button idea is amazing! The hangars are so beautiful! Everything is beautiful! Wishing you a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness.. sorry about your earache! When I was at the doctor on Wednesday she looked into my ears.. I said.. did you see anything? LOL! She said no.. but can you imagine having to look in everyone's ears and what you might see? I hope you get fixed up fast. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your ear, I hope you are all feeling better this weekend. Love your canvas.
ReplyDeleteMeredith
I hope you're feeling better, I've had that ear thing and it's not fun at all. Hope your husband's meds kick in quickly. I'm five weeks into my DMARD med increase so that should start, right??? Prednisone is just making everything super :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. Doesn't sound like a good week at all. I love your cards - so creative!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely weekend
So sorry about your earache. Hope things resolve well. Glad you still had the energy for creativity. I remember seeing a lot of Cath Kidson displays in shops when we visited England. I enjoyed her stuff. Hope you have a wonderful weekend without earache!
ReplyDeleteI agree that earaches are very painful. Hope yours clears soon. I am interested in how you will decorate the hangers. Your burlap button hanging is sweet!
ReplyDeleteHoping that ear is cleaned out and you are on the mend, my friend.
ReplyDeleteEaraches are horrible!
Hope your weekend is happy and peaceful!
I do hope you feel better soon as earaches can be so painful. I love seeing all the crafting projects you are in the midst of making. The burlap picture looks amazing as does the rest. I hope you have a quiet, pain free weekend. Hugs, Pat
ReplyDeleteSorry about the health problems. I'm prone to earaches. Your craft projects look interesting, really like that burlap.
ReplyDeleteEar aches are awful! Hope ever one feels lots better soon. Even when you have a not so great week, you get more done than I do during a great week! Your crafts turn out so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear you have had a difficult week. Hope the ear problem is soon resolved.
ReplyDeleteI like what you did with the wooden hangers and just might steal that idea. My front (guest) coat closet has all wooden hangers. I don't think Cath Kidston things are available in Canada, more's the pity.
wow. you are already started on Christmas. I'd say that's quite a feat. Hope you'll all feel better and get fully back on your feet soon. I'm looking forward to seeing those hangers completed. They already look better just painting them blue.
ReplyDeleteFor not feeling like you've accomplished anything, I'd say you made progress in several areas. And yes, earache can be so very painful - I'm sorry and hope it heals quickly.
ReplyDeleteEaraches can be incredibly painful. I'm sorry you been suffering from one. Hopefully you get it sorted out soon. I love your art work, and the hangars. Very creative!
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm late in reading and leaving a comment on your Five on Friday post summing up your week. I always appreciate your comments on my week day blog posts as well as the regular Friday get together. So sorry it hasn't been such a good week with family health concerns and your own. I hope you get some relief from the pain of earache. It's difficult to concentrate when all this is happening, but you've done good work on the cupboard and have achieved a lot with your makes. Thinking ahead to making Christmas gifts for the family means you are very organised. The gifts will be very much appreciate because Grandma made them.
ReplyDeleteI hope your earache has cleared up by now. The canvas looks lovely. A wonderful variety of projects.
ReplyDeleteEarache really is painful. Ouch! Nothing finished but so much accomplished. I like the picture and the coathangers that looks like happy messy craft fun. Jo
ReplyDeleteI am way behind on my blog reading, having been on vacation. It is so nice to be back and catch up on all your news. I love all the makes!
ReplyDeleteAmalia

Hope you get that ear issue taken care of soon and feel better!!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the projects you're working on - even when they're not finished. ;) Such pretty cards, love the dresser, and sweet hanger idea,...but I adore that Paris canvas!! Beautiful!!
Blessings on your weekend. xoox
You're very productive for having had an earache. I hope you're feeling better soon. I love those Cath Kidston fabrics so much I'm having fabric envy!
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteI am just now getting around to blogging again. You commented on my blog over a month ago and I want to Thank you.
I know exactly how an earache feels. I used to get them often as a kid. Back then, they used to lance my ears alot. As a result, I have scar tissue. No fun. They are about as bad as toothaches, which I seem to have a lot of anymore.
Please post pictures of those hangers when you finish them. I think they are going to be adorable.
I wouldn't say you didn't get anything accomplished. A cabinet, cards, hangers, a hanging....and all with an earache! I think you did a lot.
Cindy Bee
The trouble with earache is that you can't take your ear off until it is gone - I'm not sure which is worse, earache or toothache.
ReplyDeleteDiana
I am so sorry about your earache! Hope it starts getting better soon. Love all your wonderful projects.
ReplyDeleteI looks like you are very busy despite your earache. I suffered from earaches when I was a child and they were very painful. I love your cards. They looks very elaborate and somewhat time consuming. I am looking forward to see your artwork.
ReplyDeleteYour cupboard turned out really nice! And what a lovely craft you made. I just found your blog and it was a pleasure to visit! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Jill
LOVE the burlap artwork, very nice!
ReplyDeleteOuch, hope your ear is feeling better. You have lots going on to keep you very busy xx
ReplyDeleteHello Mama, I hope your ear is improving. I love your “love” burlap and your coat hangers are going to look gorgeous. The cupboard is very nice. Your celebrations post is lovely, family all together having fun.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I do hope your have lost that earache. They are really horrid and very painful I think you got a lot done! I wish I could say I got that much done last week. I adore the hangers. How very cute. You are so clever. Get well soon.
ReplyDeleteInteresting idea with the wooden hangers for gifts. Where do you stamp it and where do you put the fabric? Not sure if there's wooden hangers here in the US. Maybe at a thrift store though. Hope you are all feeling better. Take care!
ReplyDeleteOuch! That earache sounds terrible. I hope it is gone by now (I've been traveling and am catching up on my favorite blogs). I enjoy seeing all your creations. Those hangers are going to be so cute.
ReplyDeleteIt looks to me like you've accomplished quite a bit!! What a lovely color those hangars are, and I love the pink and white dresser.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your ear. Hope you're feeling much better now. xo Deborah
