A Mouse, A Sheep And A Rabbit

The weather has finally picked up and we are once again feeling as if it really is Spring.  Hopefully once the garden has dried out a little we can enjoy the great outdoors and get on with some gardening.  In the meantime I am enjoying my time in the craft room and have finished the blanket for Hector ready for his trip to Disneyland.

One thing is for sure, it will keep him warm on a cold wintery day.

I smiled as I looked out of my dining room window and saw our neighbour walking her dogs, they range in sizes and ages but are all very well behaved.

Yes, you were right it is a SHEEP!  I have shown you pictures of this before, but even though I see this on a regular basis it still makes me smile.

I have kept myself busy on Honey's quilt and am pleased with the progress thus far.  It seems to be coming together quite nicely, despite the random placing.

It is bigger than I anticipated so I might have to adjust things from the initial plan.

I love the eclectic mix of fabrics, a real mix of makes and memories behind each block.  The bunnies make me smile and add to the magic.

I am having fun with this and enjoying the process.  What are you working on at the moment?

See you soon.

  1. You sure are a talented seamstress, Lorraine! I have no patience or "perfection" in me to cut or sew quilts - it is a bit of an exact science, and I just didn't get that "gene!" I do so admire those, such as yourself, who are so crafty and good at it though!

LOVE the sheep walking neighbor, that's just so funny for me living in a suburb of a very large city. ♥

  5. I enjoyed seeing your neighbor and her dogs.. and the sheep! Good job on the quilt! I'm cleaning out my email inbox and trying to get all my volunteer business done so I can go on my trip to the beach w/o worrying that I've forgotten to do something. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  7. Everything you have been doing looks great...the Mickey Mouse blanket is perfection and the quilt is darling...I like the random placement and the bunnies and the flower panels on the four-squares. I have been mending in my sewing room, which is not quite as much fun as creating.

  9. What I'm mostly doing these days is working outside getting all those Spring chores done. Today my oldest granddaughter came to have supper with us so I actually made a nice meal. Leftovers for tomorrow which is great!

  10. I do so love your quilts. I am not quite so adventurous at the moment as I am quite new to quilting but I hope one day to have a go at making something a little different from the same size blocks or strips.
Making clothes is my thing at the moment. Just finishing off my trousers and then I am onto a skirt-x-

  11. I thought the dogs were being walked in a field that had sheep in it, I didn't realise your neighbour was walking the sheep too. Hector's blanket is lovely, just the thing to keep the Disney theme going for his trip. Honey's quilt is really pretty, I like all the different fabrics.

  14. Hector's blanket is so cute. I just know that as he grows it will be a favorite as will Honey's quilt as she get bigger. I smile everytime I see those beautiful squares. I saw that sheep in the first picture and thought, "what? is that a sheep?" So funny but sweet.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  15. Your sewing skills are wonderful and I'm sure your little dears are going to adore snuggling up in your beautiful gifts. How sweet to see the dogs and the sheep following their mistress on walks. The fields are so green and lush! xx Karen

  16. I love the photos of the sheep following along. I don't think you can make a blanket too big, she will grow and it will be big enough for her on the way.
