Easter Weekend

Thank you so much for all your comments, emails, thoughts and prayers.  We have both been overwhelmed by your generosity.  We have settled into a slower routine and Gerard continues to do well.  The hard work starts shortly with a 12 week cardiac rehabilitation course.  We are trying to get back to some form of normality, albeit at a slower pace.  Our holiday plans both with family and Florida have had to be cancelled but it will give us something to look forward to once Gerard is completely recovered.  I will try to catch up with everyone over the next few days and once again thank you for your continued support.

We had the most wonderful surprise, or rather I did as Gerard knew all about it.   On Friday  Victoria and her little family arrived on the doorstep such a wonderful way to celebrate Easter.  It was also to have a surprise  Birthday party a little early as I am going to be 60 next week.

We did cram so much in as it was Mikes first trip to the Island, he like the rest of us fell in love and is already planning  the next trip.  We were blessed with some wonderful weather which is always a bonus, cold but dry enabling us to get out and about a little.  We became intrepid explorers, exploring the local area.  First stop Eoropie beach, we had such fun chatting and making plans for the summer as we strolled along.  There was so much to see and admire.








Eoropie Dunes Park was next on the list, just in time to join in the egg hunt.  A wonderful community event that the boys loved.







It certainly is one of the best parks that I have ever encountered, designed by the children themselves.  It was a joy to see the boys faces as they raced around on the hunt for eggs.   Our final destination was a beautiful cove before you get to the lighthouse at the Butt of Lewis.










A wonderful tour spent with wonderful people, a weekend that will not be forgotten in a hurry.  Lots of  amazing memories made to sustain us until we see each other again.  Not the quiet Easter I thought we would be having.  Did you get any surprises?

    I'm so pleased to hear that Gerard's doing well. Such a shame that you had to cancel your holidays but some things are more important. As you say, you've now got something to look forward to and in the meantime, the visit from Victoria and her family will have been a wonderful surprise for you both. Wishing Gerard a swift recovery.

    What a lovely surprise and I was so pleased that your husband is doing well. I always love seeing photos of your new island home, and do admire you for following your dream to live on your island. Will you have to go to the mainland or the cardiac rehabilitation?

    So that's where the sun is! It looks at wonderful Easter and early birthday treat. My husband did and enjoyed the rehabilitation course last year so I wish Gerard well with it. It seemed to give everyone a lot of confidence and the talks were interesting too. Happy Birthday for next week.

    Oh, I’m so glad to hear that Gerard is doing better. I’m sorry your plans had to be canceled but there is always time in the future for that. What a lovely surprise to have your daughter and her family visit. There is nothing better than having grandchildren around to brighten up your days. Beautiful, gorgeous, stunning pictures of your island. Oh, how I would love to visit you someday and see it for myself.
    I just read your comment on my blog this morning. We are not selling our big camper at the lake. This is the little trailer we bought last year to take short trips with and we have never used it.     I am sure you were all counting your blessings this Easter! The holiday may not have been exactly what you had planned, but to have a surprise visit from "the Kids" surely made it wonderful.     I'm glad Gerard is getting the medical attention he needs. I know it must be difficult for you both to learn how to do things differently than in the past. But I know you can do it!     What a lovely surprise to have your daughter and family with you for Easter!
