Changeable Weather

What a difference a day makes!  From having such a great weekend weather wise, it certainly went down hill all the way Monday evening.  We had such a storm, gale force winds, rain, rain and more rain.  Tuesday of the 27 ferry routes to the different Western Isles 26 of them were delayed or cancelled.  I obviously spoke too soon.  All outdoor activities are once again on hold.  We lit the stove, made some soup and enjoyed some indoor pursuits.  Crafting...

First up thank you cards, not before time.

I really enjoyed the process as I thought about the wonderful cards and gifts that I had received.

There are so many bugs and virus's doing the rounds at the moment so I made some tissue holders as little gifts for those that are suffering.  A little something to let them know I was thinking of them.

Anybody that has followed me for awhile, will know my love of buttons in all their guises.  The collection is starting to get a little out of hand so I thought I would get some out and have a play around.  A little bouquet in the making...

I picked out a Wide selection of colours, styles and sizes and had a couple of hours of fun.  Wiring some little flowers together.

Putting it all together was great fun, and will make a great addition to the table when I don't have fresh flowers.

Just because...

...and I also had to share the amazing skies.

This changeable weather has been a tease for awhile, I live in hope that this was just a blip and that we will be back on track with some better weather.

See you soon.

  1. It was dull and drizzly here yesterday too. Today we're forecast sunshine but it's yet to make an appearance. I'm very envious of those lamb cuddles.

  7. love your buttons!! Any crafter should have a well curated stock of buttons. I wish I had my gram's collection, I don't know who got them in the family... You look cute with your wooliness in your arms.

  9. Oh my goodness....those button flowers are adorable.

We do have some sun today but we need a good few days of it to dry out the lawns. Andy tried to mow them the other day but they were still sodden from all the rain we have had.

    Love your cuddly little friend.

  13. It's been a crazy beginning to Spring everywhere. We had freezing temps here last night! I was afraid for some of our budding shrubs and trees, but so far they look okay. I love the darling picture of you with the lamb! And your button bouquet is so sweet! Sending you sunny thoughts! ♥

  14. Such sweet little cards, tissue holders and button bouquet! Nice to feel creative even with the stormy skies outside. Such a charming photo with the lamb. Spring seems so late everywhere this year. Hope you get some sunshine this week. xo Karen

  15. We had a terrible 3 day ice storm over the weekend and it is another grey day today - although dry for the moment (there might be some flurries tonight) - I'm beginning to think that Spring is never going to arrive!
I love the button bouquet. My stepmom made a niece's wedding bouquet out of brooches. Everyone looked through their stash of bits & pieces to contribute and they bought more at jumble sales etc. - it looked amazing - I wish I was creative!

  16. The weather has been amazingly changeable... it has been beautiful down here today though and we managed to take the dogs for a walk in the woods today. It was lovely to get out and enjoy the sunshine.

Cute button bouquet! As for the little lamb you are holding, very cute indeed. What a great photograph.

  17. I like your button flowers! The lamb is adorable. The weather less so but I think we all seem to be having a strange Spring this year. I'm hoping for a couple of rain free days so I can get some outside jobs done.

  18. I'm sorry your weather isn't very fun right now. We've had such cold and rainy weather here, but today was a bit warmer and sunshine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. We're more than ready for sunshine!
I love both the tissue holders and the button flowers. The John Deere holders will be great for the men and boys out there.
Hoping for better weather for you and some spring sunshine.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  21. Honestly, the weather everywhere has been up and down. It's crazy! We had 81 sunny degrees yesterday, and now a chance of frost by early tomorrow morning with temperatures in the 30's. I love how you lit the stove and made soup and enjoyed the day, in spite of the weather. Your crafts are amazing! So pretty!

  23. It sounds like weather is a bit like ours...all over the place. Your cards are just adorable as are the other craft projects. I have always loved buttons and am reminded of when I was little and loved getting into my mom's button drawer of her old treadle sewing machine. It was like a treasure chest to me. Love your darling "button bouquets". Oh... those precious little lambs and breathtaking skies!

OMG ..that Spring Lamb is so precious .. They certainly do cheer a chilly day( Sweet little baby)... Your sky pictures are so colourfully wonderful although I do note a cooler temperature than we would probably like.. but bundling up warm and cosy does make for a refreshing outlook on the weather and our enjoyment nature.. 29. Amazing how the weather changes. Here the wind has changed directions and I think it's blowing in some new weather...hopefully warmer. We have been getting just above freezing so some melting is going on.
I love your cards, and it's something fun to make on days that staying inside is more pleasant!

My grandmother used to have a button collection and my cousin and I played with them as if they were toys.
