The cards are simple using some vintage style paper, I cut out a heart and added a pearl embellishment.
Simple but effective just need to write them a little note.
I have finally finished the cushion cover I had started to crochet. It started a life as a throw but then I changed my mind and had a vision of an eclectic mix of style cushion on the pews that we are going to renovate for the craft room.
I added pom poms to the four corners using a pom pom maker, they are so much easier than cutting out the circles from cardboard and are done in half the time.
I have added them to the pile and intend to start on some embroidered ones and a couple of patchwork ones. A slow but steady process that I am enjoying. I am enjoying the process of planning this amazing outbuilding although it is slow going.
These photos are from yesterday when we still had a sprinkling of snow, I want to introduce you to our new neighbours...
There are a couple of beautiful black ones which I will get better photos of when I take a walk down the croft.
Hope you are warm and cosy where you are, the weather conditions are all over the place at the moment. As always I thank you for your visit, your interest and your comments. There is a lemon drizzle cake, mince pies and a couple of quiche's in the oven if you want to stay for lunch.
See you soon.
I love thinking of you crafting away in your cosy cottage with the snow outside.
ReplyDeleteWe are back to rain and mud now after not even a whole day of snow.
Hugs-x-
Thanks for dropping by Mama! My cushions are 6 year old and bursting at the seams, you have inspired me to think about my own cushion heaven. Jo x
ReplyDeleteLunch sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors of the cover. We're warmer here and hoping it'll stay that way for a while.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful crochet work!
ReplyDeleteThe kids should love the cards and your right, valentine day is just around the corner. Love the look your going for on pew pillows. Hope you too are warm.
ReplyDeleteLovely craft papers. I have a bag full of pompoms I made before we moved to Wales. I intended to make a rug but with the move and then our new life I never got round to it. However I plan on making a quirky wreath for next Christmas with them.
ReplyDeleteOh, lunch sounds delicious! I love your new neighbors. I'm sure they will be nice. Your color palette is so pretty with your crocheted pieces. We are now in the upper 50's so we were able to take our walk outside which is always better. Have a wonderful week. ♥
ReplyDeleteOh yes please, a slice of lemon drizzle cake sounds lovely. The postcards are such a lovely idea, your grandchildren must be so excited looking out for things from you in the post xx
ReplyDeleteWe have had a dry and bright day but the wind is chilly, laundry all done yesterday. a little sewing today and a blitz through tomorrow morning.
ReplyDeleteLovely new neighbours. Lemon Drizzle cake sounds wonderful:)
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of you to send mail to your grandchildren every week. I should do that too. I don't want them to forget Grandma!
ReplyDeleteThe new neighbors are wonderful and I can't think of anything better than having quiche and lemon drizzle cake with you.
Blessings,
Betsy
They are just the kind of neighbours you want! It's so lovely that you post something for your grandchildren every week. They must get so excited to receive your messages. X
ReplyDeleteThe very best neighbors are the 4 legged ones.. LOL! I can't wait to see how you decorate and use your gorgeous stone outbuilding. What will you call it? A studio? Garden shed? ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteOh I can go for some lemon drizzle cake!
ReplyDeleteThose cushion covers look great and the addition of pompoms is perfect.

Oh I’d love to stay. You always stay so busy with one thing and another. I must think about Valentine’s Day myself! Your new neighbors look like quiet ones.
ReplyDeleteI'm baking today too. Biscotti and oatmeal/raisin cookies. The latter will go along with my dh when he goes to his volunteer 'job' tomorrow. Gleaners is an organization that receives veggies that stores don't want, usually in large truckfulls. The veggies are chopped, dried, packed ( by those volunteers) and sent to poor countries to be used to make soup.
ReplyDeleteThose seat covers look comfy, Lorraine. And yes if we lived closer we would have enjoyed dropping in for lunch as it sounds delicious (and sure it will taste even better) Our snowfall is just about gone as well thanks for warming temps and a day of rain with more on the way. The Valentines are sure to be a hit and I will be getting mine ready for mailing as well.
ReplyDeleteyou are so talented .. Love those cards as well as those crochet cushion covers..
ReplyDeleteNice finish on the cover! Snow is pretty to look at just not so nice to be out in all the time! I put up a birdfeeder not too long ago and tend to get distracted looking at the birds. They are much more interesting than the housework I should be doing!
ReplyDeleteOh to be able to pop anywhere for lunch...Spring seems a long way away
ReplyDeleteI love your new neighbors, wished we had those instead of the human once, although we can't complain !! I still have two blankets in the same pattern as your cushion, my MIL crocheted them for me ! So they are at least 25 years old but still good !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cushion covers. You have so many craft projects to keep you busy. Nice new neighbours.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about snow versus rain - I think snow, freshly fallen, brightens the landscape in a most welcome way during dark winter days. However, no snow here and lots of wind and rain. It's cozy by the fire, but I'm soon off to school.
ReplyDeleteYour Valentine's are sweet and sure to be appreciated by your loved ones.
Thank you for popping over to my little blog. Lovely to me you. What a busy creative lady you are.
ReplyDeleteHere in the Rossendale Valley, Lancashire I’m sure we haven’t seen a blue sky since December
Please save a slice of lemon drizzle for me! I like your cushions ..... and I love your new neighbours!!
ReplyDeleteI'm late but I would definitely have stayed for lunch with three of my favourites on the menu. Your chrochet work is lovely. Very handsome neighbours. I bet your grandchildren love receiving your gifts, that's such a loving thing to do and I'm sure it helps them feel closer to you :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm probably too late for lunch but I'll have some tea and lemon cake, please. I need to make some valentines for my little guys, too. I need some inspiration. Little boys don't like frills and lace so I have to be inventive. Maybe Supeman with hearts on his cape??? We'll see!
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented and so smart! I do a lot thinking and planning but get very little done! Lunch sounds wonderful! Sure wish I could. Bet it's fun the have neighbors like that!
ReplyDeleteYes, I would love a slice of lemon cake!
ReplyDeleteYour neighbors look to be sweet.
Have a cozy evening, my friend!
Such beautiful work. I love the way you've coordinated the colors. A superb collection. Might be slow going, but such a worthwhile project. Love seeing the pieces and the finished result will be exceptional.
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed the lemon cake. Love lemon.
Oh, yes, save me a place at the table! Yum! Lovely crochet - the colors are wonderful together. Your Valentine's cards are very sweet. We are having dreary rain and maybe some snow later in the week, too. Love your new neighbors - I've always favored black sheep :) xx Karen
ReplyDeleteLemon drizzle cake! How wonderful that sounds! I love your neighbors. I am sure I would rather have snow also. Blustery winds are hard to deal with I am sure, although they would put me right to sleep with the sound. Hard to get out in though.
ReplyDeleteBetsy
when you said neighbors I thought people! How sweet that you get to see some sheep . Your finished projects are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteOh what fun to have such fun neighbors :) and yes, crafting at a slow pace brings so much joy! Have a great lunch ;D
ReplyDeleteI agree, I far prefer the snow to the rain. Your new neighbours are lovely ;)
ReplyDeleteOur weather sounds much like yours, no more snow but blustery showers. The forecast was looking quite good at the weekend so I don't know where the wind's come from. Such lovely new neighbours.
ReplyDeleteLovely cards and that cushion covers are so beautiful. i am sure it require lost of efforts to weave that.Great creativity.

I'm listening to this programme about your area and thinking of you. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09nxzn5
ReplyDeleteThe colors of your projects are lovely. And so sweet of you to send your grandchildren cards and letters. I'm sure they will enjoy them. Nice neighborly sheep you have there across the fence. Yum, lunch sounds good but it's time for em to go go bed. Just finished up my tea that I had with the last piece of apple pie a bit earlier. Have a blessed weekend my friend!
ReplyDeleteWashing and ironing waits for no man. Truer words were never spoken.
