I am finding time for crafting and catching up with family and friends now the bulk of the packing is out of the way. The dolls house is almost finished just needs a little waxing, we are hoping to pop over to Alford later today to buy some furniture suitable for a toddler for it.
I hope Honey loves it as much as we loved making it for her.
I have also finished the second throw ready for our new home, the Arran wool used is a delight to crochet with and works up so quickly.
I have made a start on a third throw this time a zig zag pattern which is another one that works up quickly. I intend to include a third colour into the mix but need to go to the shop to buy it. I like the idea of a heather type colour which will brighten the muted shades a little.
Another cold start to the day so soup is in order for lunch and I have the bread making machine on making a cheese loaf, the perfect accompaniment. Have you got a go to meal for the cold weather?
See you soon.
Your crochet throws and new peoject are wonderful, Lorraine! And the dollhouse you've made is incredible - your sweet one is going to love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteBest of luck and good wishes on your move. It is SO not fun to move! As my husband says "Kids, just bury us in the back, cuz we're never moving again!" Though I would love to downsize a bit and have a ranch style home (no upstairs.) However I know that is not going to happen. : - )
Hope your new year is off to a great start! ♥
You are a fast worker! The dolls house is beautiful, I am sure Honey will love it. My daughter treasures hers and she's had it for 24 years. x
ReplyDeleteI wish you well with your move, I'd be the same as you, much easier to have dates to work to. The dolls house is just fabulous, I'm sure Honey will treasure it and the throws are lovely. It's good to have some things on the go to keep you occupied whilst you're waiting for news of the move.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't even know where to begin to start on packing this house up. You are super organised. Glad to see that you are making time for some crafting too though. The doll house is beautiful as are your throws.
ReplyDeleteMy go to meal when we want something comforting is either a chunky soup or a casserole-x-
Packing packing packing to be sung to the old tv show Rawhide with the snap of the whip. Ha! You amaze me still doing your crafting. The dollhouse is adorable.
ReplyDeleteOur new throws are lovely, and will be wonderful in your new home! The dollhouse is going to be a much loved play thing, and I'm sure it will be treasured for many years.
ReplyDeleteThe throws are so pretty! Love the doll house, had one a few years ago and passed it on when we moved.
ReplyDeleteLovely throws and dool house ! I don't know where you find time for your crafts !

The doll house is darling. Did you have a plan, or come up with one on your own? Great work on the throws. I hope the completion dates get settled soon. Soup and bread makes a chilly day less so.
ReplyDeleteThe dollhouse is beautiful and I'm sure Honey will love it. I don't know any little girl who didn't dream of having a doll house at some point. Your throws are turning out beautiful too. Just the thought of moving gives me shivers. And I know we need to plan for that eventuality sooner rather than later. We're having soup tonight. It's a cold dreary day here.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Betsy
You handle things with such ease. I would be stressed and running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. No way could I make the beautiful throws you've made. And the dollhouse, it is so pretty. Honey will love it!
ReplyDeleteLovin the dolls house , I cant believe you can still find time for crafting with the move , You must be mega organized , Good luck with the move xxx
ReplyDeleteThe dolls house is lovely, can I move in! I am sure that Honey will love it. Your crochet is, as always, beautiful! I can understand the kitchen sorting as we did ours last weekend - photos in my post tomorrow - and we have a lot of things that the local charity shop will be receiving too! Amazing where it all comes from and goes to isn't it. xx
ReplyDeleteYour crochet work is so impressive . . . absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHoney will adore that dollhouse! I have one that is very ornate, I got it for a very good price full of furniture. Lucky little girl! You are so fast on your crochet! Don't work too hard on your packing, hope it all works smoothly. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable doll house...someone is going to be having a lot of fun! Packing is never fun but the anticipation of new surroundings sure can be! Good luck with the move! Love the knitted throw...beautiful pattern :)
ReplyDeleteSoup and homemade bread, what could be nicer! Dollshouse is looking good xx

Honey is sure to love that beautiful house and have many happy years playing with it. Have fun furnishing it.
ReplyDeleteI really like the colour you've chosen for the throws.
ReplyDeleteIt's soup for us today too but since we're out of bread ( tomorrow is going to be a baking day!!), we'll have cheese biscuits (from the freezer).
I think Honey will love the dollhouse, and I hope you get a chance to play with her and watch her enjoy it. I have a dollhouse sandwiched behind my favorite chair in the living room and it is a cozy spot for my little grand girls to play. Your blankets are turning out beautifully! Wishing you happy healthy days, Lorraine. xx
ReplyDeleteI love to use my crock pot and made a lovely meal last night with a chicken leg and potatoes...it was delicious! Other cold weather favourites are roast chicken, chicken soup and chili. Your throws are lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour throws are lovely. Good way to spend time in the evening and as it gets bigger your legs stay warmer! Hope all goes well with finding doll house furniture for Honey! Praying you hear an end date for your house sale! God bless!
ReplyDeleteFantastic, what a great dolls' house. Honey can practise moving just like you! Hope all goes well.
ReplyDeleteI love dolls houses, I think it's a fabulous thing for a little girl, lucky Honey! My own girls spent many a happy hour playing with their dolls house when they were small. :)
ReplyDeletecute doll house! I don't know how you are finding time to craft and pack! Have fun with the kitchen packing, maybe you'll find a lost treasure :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love Honey's dollhouse! I don't know if you know, but I've recently started loving miniatures. I don't have a dollhouse but have been having the most fun making mini furniture and such! For Christmas I gifted myself a couple of bookshelves to be my dollhouse. Y'all did a beautiful job on that little house too. Your crochet is gorgeous! Thank you for popping in to see me.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I am sure Honey will love the doll house very much. Your throw is beautifully crocheted. Keep warm and have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteThe dolls house is beautiful. I think we'll be looking at getting one for Lily this year. She loves playing with the one at preschool. I am in awe at your ability to get on and do some crafting with all the packing and sorting going on. The throws look lovely and cosy. X!!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like everything is coming together nicely. I hope I manage to do as well when we are ready to pack up and move!
ReplyDeleteThe dolls house is great.
The doll house is turning beautiful... and the crochet throw blankets are so cozy..
ReplyDeleteI am behind here. You're moving?! Wow, packing up a house and still crafting. I am impressed! The doll house is lovely, and how fun for your grandchild!
ReplyDeleteI think I'll get out my knitting. I feel positively lazy next to you! xo
Glad you are fitting in some crafting as well - keep your sanity! The dollhouse is just gorgeous. Who wouldn't adore it?
ReplyDeleteBoth dolls house and throws look wonderful and soup and cheese bread sounds delicious:)
ReplyDeleteLoving your throws, I do like a zigzag! The clearing/packing, despite being time consuming must, be quite therapeutic. I'm super envious if your chosen destination - you're going to have so many photos of stunning scenery to show us!

ReplyDeleteHi Lorraine,
ReplyDeletePlease excuse my tardiness; I have a backlog of blogs to catch up on including yours! I love how you are managing to keep up with some crafting while all the packing and preparation is going on. I suppose it keeps one sane during a period of events that challenges even the most organised of people.
I love the aran wool throws. They remind me of a filet blanket that I made for my daughter in the same weight and colour. Those traditional filet patterns always look wonderful in the off-whites and heirloom colours. Something about that look shouts 'love and comfort' to me and invites one to wrap oneself up in those throws.
Good luck with all of the house moving and furnishing and decluttering whether it be a big full-sized one or a miniature doll house!
All the best,
Jodie
