Catching Up

Oh my word I hadn't realised that it had been so long since my last post.  Nothing wrong, just life taking over.  I have been keeping myself busy, mainly in the craft room. Winding yarn...

Having fun making pom poms...

Folding and cutting strips of fabric...

Browsing and enjoying craft books/magazines/patterns...

Enjoying the moment and filling my days.

The cottage has had a good Spring clean inside, we are awaiting some better weather before work begins outside.

Easter came and went which we celebrated with good food and the amazing joy of technology enabling us to meet up with family and listen to the Church services.

The weather has been strange to say the least bringing plenty of snow and frigid temperatures.

We are so thankful for the stove as a heat source, it is a joy to sit in front of a blazing fire watching the flames flicker.

Hope all is well with you.  I have some parcels to address and take to the post office and a few deliveries to make and then I am hopeful that I can sit down to catch up with you all.  As always I am thankful for your visit to my blog and your uplifting comments.  Take care and stay safe.

See you soon.

  1. You've certainly been keeping busy, it's good that you have plenty of hobbies for when you need to hunker down, it does look cold there. We had four seasons in a day here yesterday with sunshine, wind, hail and snow. It's much cooler than it has been just lately too.

  3. It is good to keep busy when it is cold. Keep busy also seems to make the flies by very quickly. Looking forward to see the progress of your craft.

  4. We could do without the snow but it does look pretty, good job you've got your cosy stove to keep you warm.

  5. Oh wow, look at that snow! We had the opposite and got up to the 80's, which is very rare for early April in our area. Have a nice week.

  6. Bitterly cold here and we did not enjoy our walk by the river today. I can imagine you sat by your warm stove - not something we have here, although there is a gas stove in the kitchen (looks like a woodburner) but we haven't used it because gas is not good for asthmatics.

You had more snow than us - we kept having heavy showers yesterday, then it mostly melted, then some more. I want an end to winter weather and for spring to return properly.

Have fun winding wool and making pompoms and other crafty bits.

  7. It's beautiful this week in the Land of Lincoln (Illinois) with temps up to 78 degrees. You certainly have been a busy lady! I've been trying to get my new little house together and hope to start posting regularly myself.

  8. I was so happy to see your sweet comment at Lakehouse! Spring is here one minute, and then gone the next it seems. Your posts are always full of the hope of brighter days ahead. It sounds like you have been keeping yourself busy inside, while waiting for warmer weather to return to your paradise. Smooches. xo

  10. Nice yarn balls you have. I saw some fun yarn at Joann fabrics Tues. Nope. Didn't buy it. Nice snow you have even though its spring. Snow makes landscape look different and nice although somewhat hazardous whilst driving and walking. We had nice Easter weather. Stay warm and be blessed. :-)

  11. Weather very topsy turvy isn’t it? We have been busy doing, to all intents and purposes, nothing, yet are days are filled nicely.

  12. Same here we had 22°C and a few days later snow and -2° ! Crazy. I am also quite busy but not with yarn or fabric, but with a ton of papers to look through and try to understand the filing system of Mr. G. who is still in hospital and I am not allowed to see him !

  13. I’m surprised you are still having snow! It’s good you have indoor projects to keep you busy so spring fever doesn’t overcome you.

  15. With the snow it doesn't look much like Spring out your way just yet.
But you're keeping busy with various projects and that's good. I don't think you ever get bored!!

  16. It sure is beautiful there but sure doesn't look like spring will be there right away! It's good to keep busy while you wait. :)

  17. Doesn't look too much like spring, but I am sure that it is well on the way. As I recall, snow doesn't last there very long so that's a good thing. The furnace is still rumbling on here as well, but at least no more snow. I am eager for the greening. You always stay busy!

  18. Hello Lorraine, you're doing what most of us are, making the best of things and keeping our hands occupied. Sure looks snowy there! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  19. Hello Lorraine,
The view out your window is a chilly one, and I hope that soon changes. We are still having frost overnight and the wind is very cold. But hardy spring bulbs are blooming, and the trees are beginning to green up. You always manage to stay busy and creative.

    Take care.

  21. We also have degrees of cold and snow, wet and cold. It's nice to be inside - with handwork, a glass of tea - baking bread and cakes ... making beautiful things. The cake is in the oven and it smells wonderful and I am enjoying my sewing machine. I sew a market bag for myself - nice and colorful :-))
    Greetings to you :-) Viola

  23. Oh my goodness. It looks very pretty but I bet you are glad of a crackling fire to warm you while that snow hangs around.

  24. I don't think there is anything as cozy as sitting in front of a crackling fire. Don't the days simply fly past. It is very hard to keep up. Hope you get some nice warm sunny days soon.

  25. The weather seems to be acting strange around the globe. I've had a small blanket over my duvet for the past couple of nights! You can't beat a crackling fire for keeping warm :-)

I think your yarn looks so colourful.

The weather has been a little mixed, we had snow the other day but not as much as you.

    Keep warm, keep well.

    All the best Jan
