What an amazing difference a little sun can make. Another day another little outing to enjoy. We made our way to Port Stoth just south east of the Butt of Lewis. You need to drive down a single track road to get there which has marked places to pass. We were unable to get down to the beach Gerard wasn't up tp it but we enjoyed sitting watching the gulls and the sea.
Flights have been arranged for a trip to Inverness on the mainland for Gerard, the appointment timed around the flights. They are so accommodating. Taxis are also pre-booked to make everything as easy as possible. We do have a hospital here on the Island but there are some things that they are unable to do. Some of the consultants/specialist come over for clinics so we are well served.
I am still enjoying a little crafting and am filling my days quite well. I have been enjoying the soothing rhythm of crochet and making some yarn Spring wreaths. It has been a fun project and they will make a nice gift.
We continue with the dry weather and for that I am thankful, we can wrap up if needed against the cold. As always I do thank you for your visit and comments. I do hope all is well with you and that the weather is been kind. Take care and stay safe.
See you soon.
I enjoyed your stroll down memory lane, so many treasured events! I'm glad everything is scheduled and you are set to go! Looks like winter might MIGHT be almost behind us.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely trip, thanks for taking us along. I do love the coast.
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to get out to enjoy the waves, the scenery, the memories.
ReplyDeleteYay! For getting everything arranged so things will go as smoothly as possible.
It's a brisk day here, but there will be improvements soon.
How lovely to get out into such beautiful scenery. Hoping that all will go well with your trip, it sounds as though you have pre arranged it well.
ReplyDeleteHow I agree what a difference sunshine makes - makes you feel good to be alive. Tam and I were talking about this on a walk a couple of days ago - we wanted to savour every minute of the sunshine that day. Now back to misty, overcast and chilly. Grrr!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely spot to park up and breath in the view. I enjoy birdwatching, so would have liked to see seabirds for a change, and what a lovely beach. Caves and rockpools make such a difference to childhood enjoyment!
Your crochet spring wreaths look lovely. I am nearly at the place where I can start to blow the dust off of some of MY crafting projects without feeling too guilty!
I hope that the Hospital "outing" to the mainland goes smoothly and the procedure is quickly and easily carried out.
The landscape is so beautiful! It is a while since we were by the sea, I hope we can take a trip soon too. It is good to get out even if the health doesn't allow long walks. My husband has some heart issues, so we also often just sit and look at the view. I hope your husbands trip to the hospital will help him be better.
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful. We've been so lucky having such gorgeous weather so early in the year, it's been a bit of respite after everything which has been thrown at us. Such a shame that Gerard wasn't up to a stroll but a change of scenery can lift the spirits anyway. I hope everything goes well with his appointment xx
ReplyDeleteLovely walking down memory lane and viewing your beautiful views.
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible landscape! Just breathtaking. How lucky to live in such an area. Your yarn wreaths with their flowers are just lovely.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Lorraine and Gerard. Thank you so much for once again sharing your beautiful island home with us. The sunshine makes everything so hopeful and wonderful doesn't it? We've had brilliant blue skies here since Monday. The birds are singing and it makes me think spring can't be far away now. Oh, I'm not fooled. I know March can be cold and snowy and no doubt we'll be revisited with it again, but once we get into March we also know it won't last long. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Gerard is having pain and glad to know that he's having some appointments soon. How nice that everything is pre-planned and scheduled well. It takes some of the stress out of it all doesn't it?
Your yarn wreaths and flowers are all so beautiful. You do such pretty crochet work. Whoever receives one from you will be very grateful.
Dennis had his first vaccine injection on Monday. He received the Phizer shot and had no side effects whatsoever. His next one will be in three weeks. Our youth minister has put me on an "end of day" list. If there is vaccine left at the end of the day, rather than waste it, I could be called. The only catch is that I have to be there within 20 minutes. I'm hoping they are a bit flexible about that because it's nearly to Idaho and is a 45 minute to hour drive in rush hour traffic. Please pray that they will be understanding.
Blessings and much love to the two of you.
Betsy
Lovely to see the bay in calm weather..I've only seen it with spectacular waves before!!
ReplyDeleteYou sound very relaxed and happy. I love those wreaths that you're making! We are expecting more snow, but I am prepared. It's cozy by the fireplace.
ReplyDeleteOh such beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing.
I wish I could be there now.
So relaxing.
Enjoy the sun, my friend.
Sunshine makes all the difference!! It's lovely that you both could get out and revisit the places that are so meaningful. As always the photos are so enjoyable to see.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Gerard's trip to the mainland will go without any hitch.
Beautiful views and it looks as if you are having very Spring-like weather! Hope the trip to Inverness goes smoothly.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are simply amazing!! what beautiful landscapes!!! Love your crocheted roses too!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for taking the time to stop by and by letting me know that you did by leaving such a sweet comment!!

I loved your sharing of your outing, I almost heard the call of the gulls and the roar of the ocean hitting the rocky shore and feel the whoosh of salty air on my face. Beautiful. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteEven a little sunlight makes a great difference. You have such beautiful view of the sea and mountains around you. Feeling the cool breeze, basking in the sunlight and listening to the sea gulls sound so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYour island home is so beautiful and I'm glad you were able to enjoy a trip out.
ReplyDeleteI hope it won't be too long until you can see your grandchildren playing on the beach once again. Xx
Your photos show what a beautiful place you live in and if I didn't know it was Winter, it could the hottest of hot days in the Summer!
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference from those misty, dark days a few weeks ago. Although I still say an angry sea is a stimulating and impressive sight to see. Wonderful photos of your favourite spots. I am looking forward to seeing those spring wreaths when you finish them. keep well Amanda x
ReplyDeleteI love this wild and rocky landscape with the rough sea ! I think if you would have the weather of Italy the Island would be fully booked !! I hope everything goes well for Gerard, I have been in Iverness 4 years ago when I made a trip around the UK. My hubby is also not well and Parkinson suspected ! He has a lot of tests now during March. You have your handicraft, I my painting to help us going on.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to spend some time on that cliff overlooking the sea. The rocky cliffs are so different from our sand beaches and truthfully, I love them more than the sand. I hope the trip to Inverness goes well.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a lovely vista to see.
ReplyDeleteI think your wreaths are going to be lovely.
God bless.
Your photos are wonderful, I hope the travels to the mainland go well, it sounds as if all should run smoothly:)
ReplyDeleteGood to catch up on your news. Stay safe. Jo x
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely photographs showing such beautiful scenery, it's so nice to get out and about.
ReplyDeleteI hope everything goes well with your coming trip and appointments, you seem to have everything well organised.
Sending my good wishes.
All the best Jan
Wishing Gerard good luck with his scans. I love photos and the reminiscences. Your wreaths are really pretty. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful landscape. What a lovely view! I hope things go well with the appointments.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to see that you and Gerard were able to get out and enjoy the views, even if unable to walk around and explore. Just being able to sit in a car and enjoy the day is reason enough to be outdoors. Hope all goes well with the trip to Inverness.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful place to go to especially if you need to escape in reality.
