Another Finish

Time seems to be dragging a little, but we are filling our days well.  We have been hopping around some of our favourite spots so that we have lots of cherished memories to take with us.  The home that we have known for 21 years is not recognizable anymore taking on the look of a warehouse.  Our home has become a house making the transition so much easier, we have taken the time to cut emotional ties.  Time will tell if that is true or not.  We are reading a lot, it so nice to be able to sit with a book and I am crafting.    Moving home is not for the faint hearted I can see why it is Number one on the list for causing stress.

I have finally finished Honeys quilt, it is already for when I see her at the weekend.

I have finished another throw/lap blanket.  The dreaded ends need sewing in.  I was hoping that the sewing in fairy would come and help but as yet there has been no sighting of her.  So I will sew them all in today.  I intend to start another one later today and have decided upon a large Granny square using the same yarn.

I am sorry about the quality of the photos, we have dappled light everywhere at the moment making for some beautiful Spring like days.  The temperatures are rising too giving Mother Nature false signals, so many bulbs are emerging through the wet heavy soil early.  What a beautiful welcome for the next home owners, Mother Nature giving a helping hand.

See you soon.

  1. What a beautiful quilt for Honey to treasure.
The colours you have used for your lap throw are just divine and I love the pattern.
Although I would love to move house to be a little nearer to town I am so glad that there is no chance of us actually doing it. I think the stress would kill me off...lol-x-

I noticed a definite change in the temperature this morning. Until today the wind has been making it bitterly cold. X

  9. Your hands have created beautiful and precious treasures! The quilt is so pretty all wrapped up. The move and the change of surroundings must be so hard after 21 years, but you are keeping yourself busy, that must help to ease your concerns. We finally have a sunny day here in our corner of Missouri (US), and our spring seems to be here way too early. We are still shut in fighting a nasty flu bug, thought it would be better today, but it is not.

  14. The quilt and throw are both beautiful! And boy do I know the stress of moving. Probably already mentioned before that I moved four times in five years. I was emotionally and physically exhausted. Whew! Glad you are finding time to read and craft!

  15. I swore I would never move again after our move 6 years ago, but we are considering it. Honey's quilt is beautiful. I'm on the home straight with my red, white and blue quilt top now. I'll get the wadding at the weekend. My favourite part is doing the hand quilting.

  18. Oh my goodness! That quilt is just darling and I know that Honey will cherish it as she grows. Your crocheted blanket is also very pretty. I like the colors you chose. Moving. We'll probably be doing that in the next few years too, so I'm trying to get rid of things a little bit at a time now so it won't be so overwhelming then.
    Blessings, Betsy

  25. Good job on the quilt, my friend. She will love that forever and ever. When do you get to head to the island and begin the serious looking for a house? Or have you decided on one via the internet? ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
