I will now have to redesign my room to accommodate it, what a treasure.
We had a lovely walk strolling around the car boot sale at Stickney, chatting and laughing our way around. Wilbur was such a good boy, clutching his pennies looking for the perfect treasure.
I certainly was very lucky and managed quite the haul, a candlemaking kit including book for £1.
I thought it was something that I would try during the winter months when I don't get out and about as much, a taster before I spend a lot of money on a pastime/hobby that I may not enjoy.
I also managed to get two old box sets of LPs which I was thrilled with, each set held eight records for £2 for both.
The LP sleeves were a real delight, stunning.
What was quite amazing I was familiar with all of the songs and artists, I really am getting older.
For the bargain price of 10p I also secured a stencil set, whilst I wasn't too keen on the stencil I did think the paints and the brush would be useful.
It really was a good quality brush so well worth the 10p spent. Another 10p brought a book.
I have a dolls house that I want to "do up" and have spent some time exploring the different possibilities, so a great book to browse. 10p seemed to be the popular price this week, as I also bought for 10p some vintage blocks for the nursery.
Wilbur managed to get some books and a game, which we had fun playing. We also had fun with bubbles.
...and of course some rough and tumble with Grandad and the inevitable visit to the soft play. The soft play centre is like a ritual, a visit to Granny and Grandad's means a visit to the beach, the park, soft play and ice cream.
A wonderful weekend, making some wonderful memories to treasure and reflect upon. A weekend looking for treasure, bargain hunting. How was your weekend, did you manage to hit the jackpot and bring some treasure home?
See you soon.

ReplyDeleteWhat super treasure. The doll's house book looks very interesting. I have a doll's house as well. Mine could probably do with a refurbishment some day soon.
ReplyDeleteI didn't bring home any treasures, but I got to my beloved beach this weekend.
ReplyDeleteWilbur is SUCH a cutie! Looks like he got some fun things at the boot sale.
You had some good buys, and that will be a good way to try out the candlemaking won't it. Let us know how you get on! Have fun typing things on the typewriter, I learned on an even older one than that, but I have great memories of it! xx
ReplyDeleteOh the joy of an old typewriter. They are fun, but I must say I am glad the computer was invented.. remember that old white out stuff? Can't wait to see your homemade candles. Your grandson is completely adorable with that blond hair and cute face! A treasure! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! I love that typewriter. I can't believe I gave mine away years ago. Wish I still had it. What a cutie that grandson is!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fabulous weekend was had by all. Love that typewriter too.
ReplyDeleteYour weekend was certainly filled with treasures: happy visits with your family, and finding creative kits, candles, and music! I'm still getting over a cold, but I am getting better. I stayed at home, and the weather was warm and golden with pretty leaves drifting down. I never dreamed as a child that one day I would attend church through interacting with a computer :) but I did that on Sunday. Before computers I well remember wrestling with a typewriter very similar to the one you were given. My 31 year old daughter has her heart set on finding an old black metal typewriter even though she uses all sort of electronic gismos. Wishing you a happy week! xx
ReplyDeleteoh how i love your typewriter!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely gift from your daughter

oh the typewriter! I had an electric one years ago. I finally sold it when we got a computer and before we moved from NM to OR. I have an old camera though which is interesting. I did find a few kitchen hot pads I felt I needed...2 for me and a towel and matching hot mitt to make part of a late wedding gift for someone, even though I wasn't invited to their wedding....so! Glad you were able to enjoy your adorable grandson...grandpa looked like he was enjoying himself! Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteLove the typewriter! And some great bargains at the car boot as well. Perfect weekend!

Such fabulous finds!!! A couple of weeks ago my neighbor put out a ton of vinyls that her children had collected when they were kids. I picked them up and put them all in the back of my car. Two huge storage bins full of them. They're worth some money and I'm going to see what I can get for them. She also put out an old typewriter still in its case. I put that in the back of the car too. : ) xoxo

I've recently bought a vintage typewriter in a charity shop, in mint condition with all the original parts. I love it so much. I just need to find a ribbon so I can use it, hopefully someone still makes them :-)
