Five on Friday

As always a big thank you for all your wonderful comments and your interest in my father, he is slightly improved and managing to get out of bed for short periods.  A warm welcome to new followers, I hope you find something of interest and enjoy your visit.

Once again I am joining Amy over at lovemademyhome.blogspot.co.uk/ for Five on Friday.

My five for this week are WIPs, projects that I am working on.

1.  Wilbur's quilt.

Steady progress is being made, I am pleased with the overall effect and the bright colours.

2.  Garden Furniture.

Rain stopped progress.  I forgot to take a before picture but the set was looking tired and shabby, so it is in the process of been given a new lease of life.  Only 2 more chairs to go.

3.  Garden bench.

Some of the wood on this bench was rotten so needed to be replaced and obviously re-stained and the black re-painted.  Quite a big job...

4.  Crochet Lap Blanket.

This has been on the go for quite awhile, I had actually forgotten all about it until I started to de-clutter the craft room and came across it.  I love the yarn and the colour, so its definitely on my to do list.

5.  Washcloths.  Last but not least.

I bought some new towels for the guest room recently and need to finish off a pile of washcloths to match them.  I love the luxury of a hand crafted wash cloth and also like to have some made ready for little gifts when needed.  Hope you enjoyed my Five on Friday.

See you soon.

  3. Oh yeah, the garden is calling and we need to take care for the garden furnitures... my cat is lucky, that "her" chair is out now -
What a bright colorful quilt you make and: I've never seen crochet wash clothes before. What a great idea from rests of yarn.
    Have a great weekend

  5. The quilt is beautiful! It's great being able to get the garden furniture out! We had a set like yours but the dog chewed it when he was a puppy, my husband tried to hide it at first until I tried to sit down one day and there wasn't a leg on the chair anymore. Good luck with the bench, a big job worth doing, I bet x

  10. You are making good progress on the quilt and crochet work. I'm longing to get my garden furniture outside, but even though the calendar says spring the weather doesn't think so :) I'm visiting from 5 on Friday, where I've joined for the first time this week.

There are always so many things to do in Spring, it's nice to be out doors but the list can be so long and rather daunting. good to hear about your dad, took care of my parents for years too, it sure can be tough. 20. So much has been happening in your life since I last saw your blog roll into my sight :-) I have just scrolled back to catch up. First, I am sorry that your father has been so ill, but I am glad he is getting better, and glad that in spite of the worry you were able to take and enjoy your Florida trip. [You showed me part of the USA I haven't seen before although I have visited FL several times :-)] I enjoy seeing the progress of your varied craft interests and especially love the quilt you are working on. You inspire me to not give up on cutting the squares for a quilt I have been wanting to make for a loooooonnnnng time :-)
Wishing you and yours a healthy happy Spring. xx
