A Weekend of Celebration

I have been away for a long weekend to Hartlepool, a family reunion to celebrate Amie's birthday who is 29 today, Lily's birthday who was 4 on 27th Jan, Daisy's birthday who will be 2 on 6th Feb.  Unfortunately Wilbur was hospitalized due to a bacterial throat infection so was unable to attend.  A very worrying time for us all but he is on the mend and appears so much better so I will catch up with  him next weekend.

As you can imagine the weekend was dominated with all things Frozen, I have never seen so much Frozen merchandise in one place, the girls seem to have it all.  They were great entertainers singing the songs together even Bertie joined in.

There was a mixture of adventures from soft play...

A fancy dress party...

To having some wonderful meals out, even choosing off the menu became a great adventure.

Some amazing moments captured and ready for scrapbooking, so that I can relive some of the precious moments that we have shared as a family.  I feel truly blessed that we get together so often and are able to spend quality time together.

How time flies, I can't believe that we are in to February already, where did January go?  I had such big plans with some new craft projects in mind but I am afraid I am sadly lacking in that area.  I don't know what I am doing with my time these days.  I need to go back to making a list it certainly seems to be more productive.  We have finally had a sprinkling of snow which made it quite difficult to drive along the windy country lanes on the way home last night.  There was not a sign of grit or salt to be seen once we had got off the major roads.  On a more positive note the snow has almost disappeared already but the temperatures are starting to plummet.  So the best place to be right now is Home Sweet Home with a roaring fire and a pan of stew on the stove.  Stay safe, warm and dry.

See you soon.

  3. Isn't it amazing? January feels endless and yet we get nothing done! How can that be? I'm another one who had great plans for crafting but we all know how the road to hell is paved!

  4. looks like you had fun with your family over the weekend. Glad that the throat infection is on the mend! A dusting of snow is always nice to look at and if you're not a winter lover well then it quickly melts away.

  10. What a lovely time with your family! The little kids are so cute and having so much fun. Seems to he you had a super busy fall preparing for the wedding and Christmas with some major surgery to top it off maybe you are still in recuperation mode. Hunker down by your fire and read a book or catch up on your magazine reading. Keep warm and well!

  13. That second to the last picture is adorable!! Looks like you had a wonderful time. We've had about 12 inches of snow in the last couple days, with more coming, so time in front of the fire sounds good, indeed!

  17. What a wonderful family event, it sounds like you all had a fantastic time. Isn't it funny though with girls and Frozen? All the girls at school seem to be really into it yet the boys couldn't care less. I have three boys, and while they didn't mind watching the film a couple of times when they got the DVD from their grandparents they are actually pretty indifferent towards it and certainly don't get into the whole Frozen-mania.

I know what you mean about the way the months just go and the need to make a list for crafts projects. I think it was one of the reasons for me for signing up for the A Year of Projects Ravelry group. It's been great for that because there is no pressure at all and no deadlines, and yet the posts do help to keep me focussed.
