The Beauty After The Storm

The winds have calmed down and the rain has stopped for now, so I have had a walk around the garden and along the footpath to assess the damage.  The good news is there wasn't any, we are truly blessed and I am so thankful.  Some of the neighbours have not been so lucky with damage to fences, it could have been a lot worse.  Scotland seems to be taking the brunt of the storms at the moment with winds reaching over 100mph.  The weather forecast has predicted much of the same for the rest of the week.

The sun has come out and all looks well, the swans are gliding up and down the dyke.
The ponies are back in the field, albeit with their winter coats.

A stroll around the garden uncovered some green sprouts, preparing to push their way through the sodden soil to reach sunlight.  Bulbs planted last Autumn to brighten a dull day.

In the meantime, progress on the picnic throw is going well.  I am enjoying the feel of the fabric and the tiny stitches, the planning of the overall finish and the beauty as it grows.

The sun is shining through the window,  warming the craft room and brightening the house with shafts of sunlight and reflections.  A beautiful sight and a great reprieve  from the recent storms.

We need a little bit of shopping and a break from the house so a trip to town is planned, or maybe a trip further afield if the fancy takes us.  That's the beauty of retirement, you can do what you want.  Have you got anything planned?  Take care in these unpredictable times with the weather.

See you soon.

  1. Glad you had no damage. We have a broken pane of glass in the greenhouse but that is easily replaceable.

  15. Oh yes, it has been crazy around here too - rain, hail, storm. So much so we had to keep the children inside. You probably know what that means ;-)
