Patchwork Picnic Throw Progress

The mornings are getting colder at the moment but we have been lucky and still not had snow, which is a blessing.  We have however had some beautiful sunrises creating some beautiful shadows and shafts of light through the windows.
Progress on the picnic throw is steady,  with the top now all stitched together.

I am still pleased with the overall effect and the colours, so time to pull out the tacking stitches and the paper templates.

At this stage I did give it a helping hand by ironing it.

Exciting, time to make the quilt sandwich and pin the three layers together.  That took a little fiddling about to get it even.  My tip is to always start in the middle and work your way outwards.

I used some bright yellow fabric for the backing to make it really sing of warmer times.  I am quite pleased with the overall effect.  I intend to baste/tack it before I start to quilt it all together.  A very rustic way of doing a quilt but one that I am happy with.

I had some lovely mail this morning from the new Mr and Mrs, a lovely card to thank us, what a wonderful keepsake.

What lovely stationery and such a beautiful photograph.  I am always amazed by modern technology and what is available these days.

Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments on the wedding, it was so lovely to share it with you all.  I think a nice cup of tea is in order.  Hope you are all having a good weekend.

See you soon.
