Gerard is certainly on the mend, whilst not quite ready to resume jobs on the cottage he is feeling much better in himself. We have had plenty of visitors to amuse us and keep the blues away.
As well as friends and neighbours popping in for a few moments to check in on us bringing some lovely baked goods with them. I feel blessed that we have moved to such a caring community. The chickens are on order and need to be collected on the 9th October, exciting times.
Church is not on the agenda for today, we are going to stay home until Gerard is stronger. I am not on the rota for Sunday school this week, so we intend to have another day sat in front of the stove. It would be nice to spend some time working on my new bible, which was gift for my birthday way back in April. It is a beautiful bible that is does indeed inspire, with columns with each passage for either notes or designs of your own. There is some wonderful illustrations for colouring in, which I do enjoy.
I am using normal pencil crayons but it would be nice to find something brighter. I did try duel ended pens but unfortunately they bled through the delicate paper. Any suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated.
I have a Harris Tweed note book that I have made a start on some designs for the columns, I really have enjoyed the process.
So sorry about the shadows in the photos, it really is quite a peculiar light around here this morning. Although thankfully the dark clouds are moving over very quickly so I am hopeful the rain will pass over soon.
The Isle of Lewis has a traditional culture of Sabbath observance in that nothing opens on a Sunday, all shops and business's are closed. There has been the odd protest now and again but in general mostly respected. We too have embraced the observance and don't hang out washing or do the lawns on a Sunday, it really does make for a peaceful day. Have you any plans?
A warm welcome to new followers, hope you enjoy my little adventures through life.
See you soon.
